Help please! Would I look ridiculous wearing this outfit/skirt to the races?

Well, kind of like this.
My first time going to the races - apparently we are going to the "nice" part but not the super-posh area.
Would this kind of outfit look ok? The top will either be a stripey or plain black boatneck one and the skirt I'm eyeing up is a little bit less "pouffy" and more nude than pink.
Will l look stupid? I can hoestly not tell!

Help please! Would I look ridiculous wearing this outfit/skirt to the races?

I love that outfit especially the skirt! Very Envy

Bojoro, the OP came on here to gather opinions regarding the suitability of her chosen outfit. Her outfit is perfectly suitable for a day at Chester races. And if she wishes to wear a fascinator that is acceptable too. So are her choice of shoes. If she wants to avoid the grass it's easily done. She isn't asking if it's OK to wear a bondage lime green dress (although I've seen someone in that).
Her outfit choice is classy which I'm sure reflects who she is. (If it's good enough for Carrie Bradshaw it's good enough for Chester)
OP have a great day, I may even see you there (I may even wear a fascinator Smile).

bojorojo the trouble is your posts don't make it sound like you do know what you are talking about. The silly jibes claiming people who don't agree with you don't go to the races for example - not only rude but bizarre. Other people have stated they go regularly, you can't make their disagreement go away by saying you go more.
This is particularly relevant given this is a style forum and thus having gone 3 or 4 times recently would therefore be as much value for 'what to wear' as every week.
The picture the OP has shown is day wear.

If we are going down the catty who-knows-most route, having to cite your daughter about some very basic fashion knowledge might, to some people, suggest that whilst you might know a lot about racing you aren't so hot on the difference between day and evening wear and current norms in terms of ages for certain styles.

Thanks once more for the reassuring words squiz and doing (and for calling me classy Blush )
Might see you there Doing , at least you will be able to spot me Grin

Just enjoy your day.

I love it and think it is totally suitable for the races Smile

I've been to the May meeting at Chester races many many times and it's perfect. You get a real mixture of people there some wear hats and some don't and it's a really really fun day. The grosvenor hotel in Chester town centre is really good for a cocktail or two before the meeting starts and then everyone walks down to the race course.

Have a ball and ignore the silly commentsSmile

Very suitable with black boat neck top, your outfit sounds lovely, and no, you don't need a hat to Chester races.

Fabulous skirt! I'm wearing something very similar to a wedding this summer and I'm 50! Am definitely wearing killer stilettos too, although won't be walking over a lot of grass so a bit easier for me.
