I totally fell in love with these today. Firstly, I'm 33 years old, do they look like something a 30 year old would wear?

Secondly, what would I wear with these? Could I wear some chinos or nice maxi skirts? What about skinny jeans?

No, sorry, can't think of anything in their favour at all! Gladiators aren't exactly on trend - though I suppose you could argue that they are a sort of classic - and that isn't a nice interpretation of the gladiator look at all, IMO.

Don't like the New Look ones either, I'm afraid. And, riding my casual ageism hobbyhorse, can't think why a PP thought a 70-year-old would want to 'snap up' the original sandals. 70 year olds I know wouldn't touch them with a bargepole!

Woah. Harsh.

So is it ghillies in general that you lot don't like or just these ones?

puddlejumpingqueen · 10/05/2016 19:36

I have the female version of Until's first pic. I also have an accompanying scar on the back of my leg where they cut in!

TSSDNCOP · 10/05/2016 19:46

Perfect for a stroll up the Via Dolorosa with your cross.

Not fine for anything else.

WakeUpFast · 10/05/2016 21:12

They're going back!
My husband actually bought them on his card, so he's taking them back.
😁😖😂😂

Good decision

Next time remember to get our approval BEFORE purchasing any footwear Wink

WakeUpFast · 10/05/2016 21:15

Now I feel like showing you pics of all my shoes and ask your opinion if they're too frumpy Hmm

Kr1stina · 10/05/2016 21:18

Nah it's too late if you already own them Grin

Besides you might want to see mine and they are DEFINITELY Frumpy with a capital F

WakeUpFast · 10/05/2016 21:24

Hahaha, well at least you haven't had to endure "won't touch with a barge pole" comments!

I actually own a pair of lace up boots that I wore all winter that a woman once commented on how nice they were. Now thinking back she was smiling a bit too much whilst complimenting me. I'm feeling paranoid now!

Now I shall prepare myself for the worse. I wore these all winter so please break it to me gently.

I find sites that show the shoes on an actual foot really helpful. Asos is great for that and Schuh but not many other sites do it.
