What do you wear on your feet at this in-between time of year?

I've found my feet are starting to get hot in boots but it's too early to get the flip flops out.

I wear Converse a lot of the time but need another alternative, preferably something comfy to walk in. I was thinking about some lighter trainers eg Nike Roshe or Tavas but suspect they'll also be a bit warm.

I notice the shops are full of loafers and moccasins which would be ideal but sadly I can't stand them. I guess there's always ballet pumps but I find they often rub when worn without socks.

Roll on the summer!

Weather is still very mixed here (blue skies and 16C on Thursday and then snow yesterday) so my footwear is also still a little mixed. I am alternating between boots (although the super cosy fur-lined ones have been put away), converse, Toms & pumps.

Have you tried the Dune Head Over Heels range for pumps - I have a couple of pairs and they don't rub at all and I am very very fussy about pumps for that very reason. I also have a pair of hush puppie pumps and they are the most comfortable flats I have ever owned!

For something a little bit warmer you could try these or if you can find them - the fur lined ones. I have a pair and they are so comfy and so cosy - honestly like wearing slippers outside! I got mine in the US when we lived there so don't know if they are available here but I would think they should be

Are these Nike roshes really comfy then? I'm off on a day trip to London on Saturday and suffering with plantar fasciitis, so need some really, really comfy new shoes if I can jump on this thread for any recommendations. (Sorry op)

robinsamy · 24/04/2016 19:22

Ballet flats or trainers outside, barefoot around the house.

CremeEggThief · 24/04/2016 19:23

Converse or black ballet pumps with tights or socks.

Bails2014 · 24/04/2016 19:29

Boots, lovely lovely boots.

Although I am hankering after a pair of trainers, my current pair of Adidas were bought circa 2007. I don't really wear trainers a lot.

But trying to find some that aren't pink and umm, well, trainery is pretty difficult. Joules have some nice ones but they're too flowery for me. I'm not very good at shoes, I wish I could just live in boots.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2016 19:39

Nike Roshe = dreamily comfortable. I think they are quite narrow though, so probably no good if you have wide feet.

I'm on the look out for some wonderfully soft and squishy black leather ballet shoes. Anybody seen any?

weirdsister · 24/04/2016 19:43

Hush puppies janessa are soft.

BrandNewAndImproved · 24/04/2016 19:44

Dolly shoes or my air maxes.

Laquila · 24/04/2016 19:45

I've been wearing sandals for over a week - you lot are nesh!! ;)

Am also wearing Supergas with boyfriend jeans and no socks. Once we've had a hint of sun I can't get my boots back out - I get all foot-claustrophobic-ish...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2016 19:47

Thanks, WS. They are a bit ugly, but I will try them on. They look as if they might be too wide for me though.

Purplehonesty · 24/04/2016 19:53

And can I ask a question on this thread please?

Same idea...I wear dresses, tights or leggings and ankle boots to work, but now I am on my feet all day they are getting really sore.

What could I wear with my dresses that's comfortable? Trainers don't seem right with a dress?! but I own a cafe and literally running around all day without sitting down.

I'd usually ditch the leggings and wear ballet pumps in summer but my feet ache as the sole are so thin....

Help!

Nyancat · 24/04/2016 19:57

I've been in my Nike roshe and still in boots at the min. But grabbed a pair of these in sainsburys yesterday tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Navy-Lace-Up-Shoes/129469256-Navy

mrsmugoo · 24/04/2016 20:04

I'm wearing Birkenstocks come rain or shine right now by virtue of being 8 months pregnant and I'm totally done with socks and shoes!!

QOD · 24/04/2016 20:15

It's a nightmare! I only have boots and.flip flops

WeSailTonightForSingapore · 24/04/2016 20:15

Converse, as my work place is very casual so I can get away with it.

However, I do have (1) bouts of feeling like I'd like to look a bit more grown up and (2) some work events at other places coming up.

I suppose I ought to get some shoes, really. I can't get away with brogues, I just look like I am wearing my husband's shoes.

I like Toms but they are just as casual as Converse. Ballet flats, I do like them but I can never find some that look good on wider feet and are well made.

Good thread op, I am watching with interest.

Only1scoop · 24/04/2016 20:45

Bloch leather ballet pumps I find really comfy and 100 percent leather.

Tanfastic · 24/04/2016 20:53

Loafers, ballet flats and Chelsea boots.

MrsBenWyatt · 24/04/2016 21:25

Nike Roshe here!

Muskateersmummy · 24/04/2016 21:28

Mixture of boots, converse, ballet pumps, and court shoes for work

janethegirl2 · 24/04/2016 21:29

Normal shoes if I'm outside the house, bare feet inside the house.

bigbadbarry · 24/04/2016 21:30

Ballet pumps but cold feet :(

absolutelynotfabulous · 24/04/2016 21:34

First foray into brogues for me. A cheap, lightweight trainery-looking pair from Shoezone. Probably more granny than granny chic, but hey ho.......

JaceLancs · 24/04/2016 23:26

Pointy toe flats for me I look hideous in ballet pumps
Slipper style also work for me
I also wear toms and Skechers go walk with jeans or trousers for holidays or leisure

whatevva · 24/04/2016 23:31

Boots and woolly socks.

Mitfordhons · 24/04/2016 23:32

I'd do ballet flats but I'd like them to have a bit of a heal, just a cm but not mega flat and haven't seen any.

I've been wearing brogues, I think the trick to make sure you don't look too blokey is to wear them without socks and with 7/8th's.
