Foundation for *really* pale skin

I'm looking for foundation, tinted moisturiser or BB cream for very pale skin. Most of the products that I have looked at are too orange. The other caveat is that it must be cruelty free, so that seems to rule most brands out these days.

Preferable yellow or neutral tones.

Can anyone help?

Dd2 has the lightest bare minerals powder foundation and mineral veil. It's a pain as its ££ but it lasts well and she doesn't look caked in it ( she's 16). It matches her skin perfectly ( porcelain almost translucent!) and covers blemishes well too.

Powder is a no no as DD has problems with her eyes, but thanks for the suggestion.

I like Bobbi Brown skin foundation in alabaster. Failing that, Illamasqua do a pure white foundation which mixes well with any old darker foundation!

Ah, just seen your update - was going to suggest Lily Lolo mineral foundation in Porcelain. They do a BB cream though, so you could try a sample of the lightest shade in that?

I have very pasty white skin and Laura Mercier tinted foundation in porcelain is perfect.

Recent convert to laura mercier here too. So light and fresh but coverage as well. Plus SPF 20!

One tube of laura mercier tinted foundation lasts months too. I've used it for about 4 years and never considered using anything else since I started.

I need to see and test the make up before buying so if it is only available online it is a no go, but thanks for the suggestion.

Laval secret beauty foundation is perfect for psle skins

I don't wear it any more as it gives a young dewy Finnish and I'm old and it doesn't suit me. It looks beautiful on going skin.

I've been using the body shop moisturising foundation for about a million years. I'm quite pale but go for the second one on the scale - there's a porcelain version, 001 or something.

Should be able to trust BS to be cruelty free, and it's certainly not orange. Costs about £12 a bottle if I remember rightly, and mine seems to last an age.

Urban decay go very pale foundation and think they're cruelty free?

Bareminerals palest shade is very pale, but also very pink so may not be suitable.

Bobbi Brown is vg for pale skin but not sure if cruelty free.

Finally, Charlotte Tilbury is definitely cruelty free and goes very pale - treat with caution tho as reviews are mixed.

The Body Shop also do lightening drops for foundation.

Pixie It's the only thing that DD, who is so pale she's almost blue, can use.

Korean beauty have mega pale shades, I have a (mistakenly bought) Misscha BB that is, well, basically cream coloured.

Not sure how they are on cruelty free though.

Try Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder in no. 1. It lasts all day and sits somewhere between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation.

This is coming from a very pale, freckle-less ginger who has tried everything. Bobbi Brown does pale shades, but they have very little staying power and are not cruelty free. In fact, any brand within the Estée Lauder group tests on animals..

Thanks again for all your suggestions. I have been round the local shopping mall gathering sample pots of different foundations and tinted moisturisers.

Unfortunately most of the palest shades are too dark or too pink for DD so I might just end up buying the lightening drops from The Bodyshop.

An alternative is to buy MAC's white F&B foundation and mix it with another one to get the colour you want.

Much cheaper to buy The Bodyshop's lightening drops. DD already has lots of foundation, but they are all too dark.
