Anyone fancy helping me NOT look like I've been bukkaked by Primark on this years holiday?

I have always had an.....idiosyncratic sense of style. And not much money to spend on clothes. It was much easier ten years ago when I did the whole 50's thing (the cropped high waisted jeans + tied at the belly gingham shirts with a flower in my hair kinda 50's rather than Lindy bop) but it's just not 'me' anymore.

I usually end up panic buying a load of cheap boring basics and a few kitsch tops/dresses with pineapples/flamingos/cocktails/cats in sunglasses on them.

I have long since reconciled with the fact that I will never be chic and pared down (and don't really want to be) but I would like to look a wee bit more grown up/put together.

Stats:

35
5'3
10-12 - Good boobs and bum but also fupa. Good (if dwarfish) legs
Quite pale with very cool colouring
Naturally grey hair which will be pixie length by the holiday
Look best in black
Wear makeup/bold lipstick 90% of time
Prefer dresses and skirts to trousers but don't like skater or maxi dresses. Can't wear 'midi' anything.

I like stripey breton t-shirt type dresses but when I try them on 99% swamp me. Also like loose shift style of dresses. I like the idea of a black cotton/natural fabric, short sleeve, loose/slouchy but above knee black dress to wear with nice sandals. That kind of relaxed but stylish is what I want to go for.

Any tips for looks/shops that might work for me?

Ew.

PixieChops · 07/04/2016 11:22

Forever 21. I've pretty much bought my whole Spring/ summer wardrobe from there and they have really nice shift dresses

BrendasGotABaby · 07/04/2016 11:25

I never thought I'd see the word 'bukkake' on MN Grin Shock

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 07/04/2016 11:28

I'm more offended the op seems to think there's something so hideous about wearing primark tbh

Badders123 · 07/04/2016 11:31

Isn't that the noise a chicken makes?

Chillyegg · 07/04/2016 11:35

I thought the op title was a typo if I'm honest.
I second h&m there's some lovely dresses in their at the moment and if you can be bothered with tk max there's some lovely finds.

LBOCS2 · 07/04/2016 12:10

She could have said spaffed. I thought it was pretty funny to be honest.

WetLettuce123 · 07/04/2016 12:17

OP I think people have chosen to take huge offence where not necessary.

Have you tried Zara or Gap?

JackandDiane · 07/04/2016 13:08

christ OP

CandyFlossBrain · 07/04/2016 13:27

I came here for links!! I don't like it when threads take this turn. Huff.

Try reposting Op, but with any triggery/potentially offensive bits taken out.

CandyFlossBrain · 07/04/2016 13:27

I swear that 'Huff' just appeared by itself. I'm not huffing anything...

oldlaundbooth · 07/04/2016 13:28

Just Googled the 'b' word.

Why, just why?!

I need a new virtual home I think.

redskirt3 · 07/04/2016 13:31

Hehe haha I feel pleased that I didn't know the meaning of bukkaked. How does one pronounce it?
I now need to know what fupa means please.

SuperFlyHigh · 07/04/2016 13:36

Nothing wrong with 50s styles.

I've got a gorgeous navy and pink flamingo print skater dress in a 12 by oasis that I could sell to you or may keep for myself!

Oasis are good but best in sales.

Vintage shops also good

CrowyMcCrowFace · 07/04/2016 13:43

Thread title made me smirk quietly to myself.

I don't know 'fupa' either, can someone explain?

I live in Iron Fist or whafty cheap crap from Camden on holiday tbh - I'm probably the look OP is trying to escape from, so of little help here...

TheSpottedZebra · 07/04/2016 13:53

Well I knew the bukkake word but not fupa. I thought the latter might be something to do with fubar, but it's not. So I googled.

Fuba is a bit like, er, gunt. What lovely words.

TheSpottedZebra · 07/04/2016 13:54

Fupa is like gunt that should say. Fat upper pelvic (ahem) area, apparently.

heron98 · 07/04/2016 14:32

I love how half the posters are talking about semen and the other half saying "why not try Whistles?"

Sweetsweetjane · 07/04/2016 14:32

Grim. And what's pray tell, is fupa?

Sweetsweetjane · 07/04/2016 14:33

Whoops should have rtft. Sorry. I'll get my coat...

Savagebeauty · 07/04/2016 14:36

I smirked too. And didn't need to google
Brenda you've not found the sex topic then Grin

SoupDragon · 07/04/2016 14:39

WTF are you doing inPrimark to make yourself look like that?

JaneJeffer · 07/04/2016 14:40

This thread makes me feel old Sad and I agree there's no need to use such a horrible expression. Nothing wrong with Primark anyway if you ask me!

MaisieDotes · 07/04/2016 14:46

Ha ha AF said "beef curtains"

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 07/04/2016 14:57

Oh god, I also didn't have to google that Blush

And I believe it is pronounced boo car key.
