How many pairs of shoes do you have and what are they?

Seem to amass a load of random shoes but then only wear the same three or four.
Next winter I will definitely be needing new boots but wondering what people consider essential for spring/summer?

Have absolutely no idea, far too many
What I can add however is that I had a mini sort out a couple of weeks ago
Gave my DSIS 14 pairs of unworn shoes and put another 6 pairs into the weekly charity bag
Was odd though as someone rifled through the bag before the charity collection ( was out on the street at the end of the drive) and took the shoes but left the empty shoe boxes

ameliaesmith · 10/03/2016 08:44

I've got 9 pairs at least 3 of which need throwing out!

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 10/03/2016 08:49

I own two pairs of shoes, one pair of boots and one pair of sandals.

There's an old pair of wellies (they were DS1's when he had little feet) in the garage that I could wear if I need wellies too, but they're not mine.

DH has one pair of trainers, one pair of everyday shoes, one pair of dress shoes and some flip flops. The children have a similarly basic set of footwear possibilities.

We're not really into shoes all that much in this house.

joyfulworld · 10/03/2016 08:55

I only have 5 pairs. I'm not of a shoe person honestly.

mudandmayhem01 · 10/03/2016 09:08

I x fly boots
1x Patagonia trainers
2x sandal s
2x black heels for work ( kept in desk as I cycle to work)
Birkenstock shoes
Decathlon wellies
Crocs
Cycling shoes
Then running shoes...
Road shoes x 3
Trail shoes x 3
Fell shoes x5
Cross country spikes
Climbing shoes

Not too bad if you don't count all the running shoes, but I do get most of those for free or as samples.

LadyBaelish · 10/03/2016 09:19

Not many really. 3 pairs of trainers, one are just for work. One pair of canvas Vans-style shoes, 3 Converse, one pair of boots and one pair of 'proper' shoes (very rarely need to wear smart shoes so one pair is plenty!)

TeenAndTween · 10/03/2016 09:31

ACTUALLY USED
1 pair black ecco lace ups every day
1 slippers
1 walking boots
1 sandals for summer
1 pair ice skates (shame I still need the barrier)
ALSO
1 pair ecco for gardening
1 pair ecco brand new to be worn when not so rainy and muddy
1 pair black smartish court shoes
1 pair black boots no longer waterproof
1 pair smarter sandals but elastic is going and they need replacing
Possibly some others that no longer fit properly

ephemeralfairy · 10/03/2016 10:55

I just counted and I have 41 pairs just in our flat. Probably 10 or 12 more pairs at my mum's. Jesus.

DP has one pair of work shoes (bought from Primark at start of the school year, expected only to last til summer) and one pair of trainers which he will wear til they disintegrate and then replace with whatever is cheap at Sports Direct.

I am counting the days until I can start wearing my Birkenstock's full time again. I pretty much wear DM's all winter and Birkenstock all summer.

1 x red Birkenstock sandals
1 x black patent Birkenstock sandals
2 x DM shoes
1 x DM boots
1 x trainers (virtually unworn)
1 x green converse (but I really need to dump these as they are too narrow for me)
1 x red sneakers for gardening
1 x wedge black sandals
1 x flip flops
1 x walking boots
2 x Eco black boots that I don't wear much (I have an ankle injury so rarely wear heels now)
1 x tan sandals I got in Greece years ago and they are fab.

I am looking for another pair of patent Birkenstock.

RhombusRiley · 10/03/2016 14:22

Me too Lovely just love my birkenstocks in summer. Getting very bored now of the winter boots and not being able to show off my painted toenails :)

StrapOnDodo · 10/03/2016 14:28

5 boots plus Wellies
Slippers
3 Sandals
Walking boots
Walking shoes
Trail running shoes
Old trainers
Road trainers
2 ballerina pumps
Two high heels
Strappy evening shoes

19 -that's ridiculous- need to chuck some old boots

Freya888 · 10/03/2016 16:32

1 pair of wedge boots
3 pairs of sneakers
1 pair of combat boots
1 pair of booties

3 pairs of heels
And recently I added a new pair of flats www.palladiumboots.com/women/footwear/flex-lace-93155-470-m . Really comfy and stylish.

Will have to show this thread to dp then he might realise I'm not that bad.

This thread does beg the question though of where people keep all these shoes?!

Bloody loads AND I LOVE THEM.

More than 100 pairs. Mostly heels, but I also have a mild obsession with French Sole ballet pumps, the sparklier the better.

I refuse to feel guilty about it. They bring me joy!

leadrightfoot · 12/03/2016 18:02

127 pairs, mostly as I haven't come to terms with the fact I can't wear heels any more and therefore do need to get rid. And I also "replaced" my shoe collection with low heeled wearable stuff

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2016 18:09

Have today added a very nice pair of strappy suede Dolce & Gabbanas to my collection, so now up to 1m and one.

JaceLancs · 12/03/2016 21:21

I can't bear to count either!
Love shoes they never make me feel fat as I am only a size 4 with slender feet (wish the rest of me matched)
Ignoring boots as you asked about shoes I have brogues in black and brown, at least 6 pairs of ballet pumps in various colours and 6+ flat pointed toe shoes
Small heels or wedges possibly another 6 pairs
High heels same again, only 2 teeter totterers as I don't go out in taxis that often
Trainers are only for the gym, but have some black Skechers for walking holidays and a couple of pairs of vans
Sandals 20+ various colours, flats, low, medium, high and wedge
Most of these are packed away as I have been living in some kind of boot since about November!!!

JaceLancs · 12/03/2016 21:25

In answer to earlier post as to storage:
I have 2 double wardrobes with shoe racks in the bottom
For those worn less often or seasonal - I have 4 roller drawers on castors which fit under my bed - one has all my sandals in, another I use for occasion shoes

MeadowHay · 13/03/2016 10:11

Winter:
Black faux leather chunky heeled ankle boots with buckles on them (Schuh)
Reddy-brown real leather, flat, laced ankle boots (kinda DM style but not DMs) (Henry Holland @ Debenhams)
Black knitted Ugg boots

Summer:
Flat black plastic sandals (jelly shoes!)
Green plastic buckle wedges (obv the wedge is like sandy coloured) (Kurt Geiger)

All year round:
Red TUK flat cat shoes
Black faux leather patent brogues (Clarks)
Black 'formal' wedges (Clarks)
Dark glittery ballet pumps (Office)
Purple converse
Cheapy black and pink Slazenger trainers - just for the gym/sports classes (pilates/yoga/pole fitness)
Super cheap crappy blue flip flops from BHS - just for pole fitness/beach/swimming

FashionLover1 · 16/03/2016 16:43

Same here, have loads of shoes, but mainly wear three or four pairs. Loving these Sargosa shoes for spring/summer, the most comfy heels ever.

DadOf4Girls · 28/04/2016 22:01

Been reading these posts and the names and descriptions of the shoes is way over my head. I did read someone's bf having only 2 pairs of shoes. I can beat that.
1 pair steel toe cap boots supplied by my work as my only pair where put in the fire by my wife. She did wait until I got them though, a year ago
