Lash serums - do they work and which would you recommend?

Hi all, my lashes are stupidly short and horrible and id really like to get them a bit longer! Ive used Rapidlash in the past and not noticed much of a difference. Can anyone recommend another brand? Has anyone used Revitalash? It looks very expensive (if in fact you can get hold of it - seems to be out of stock everywhere!), but I'd happily pay if it worked!

My eyes do have brown flecks so guess I'll just have to stick to crappy eyelashes < sigh >

Thought about trying eyelash extensions but heard some horror stories on here about pp's own eyelashes falling off when they were taken off. The horror!

OddBoots sorry about your mum. Sad

Thelwell · 27/02/2016 14:56

It's not been removed from serums. It's the most well known lash serum in the USA, possibly assisted by spokeswoman brooke shields, Clare danes et al.

The products which were banned, and subsequently reformulated did not declare the ingredient as per FDA and other regulatory bodies.

You can buy it from a beautician in most high end US beauty salons (no script) as well as by prescription in USA.

I hope your mum is OK.

Sorry to worry you all and thank you for your kind comments, if it hasn't been banned then it is probably unrelated. I am probably drawing the wrong conclusions about what happened with my mum as the doctors are baffled as to how a rare condition happened in both eyes out of the blue. We are all still in a bit of shock about it to be honest.

For what it is worth I followed a recommendation on here the other day for Imju Dejavu Fiberwig Extra Long 3D mascara and it has really made my average lashes look longer.

odd boots no, please, I think it's very fair to suggest a link.

The reason bimatoprost is supposed to be prescription only is because there is said to be potentially serious risks if there are certain types of eye condition which may not have yet been diagnosed.

That's why I discussed it with my optician during a check up and I would encourage anyone else to do the same...my optician (not UK) also prescribes the same medicine for glaucoma (vitreous / eye pressure related?) It's serious stuff indeed, which is exactly why it must be declared as an active when used for cosmetic purposes. Latisse is the only variant approved by the FDA.

I will try to post links later. On phone and a fumbling failure...truly, I hope your mums eyes recover.

Anyone tried Lilash? That has a lot of good reviews on MUA.

Ebay is full of fakes though by the looks of it so only buy directly from the site.

MrsDesperado · 27/02/2016 21:04

Why are lilash/latisse so expensive. You can buy bimatoprost cheap as chips

I have used lumigan for years with excellent results. Find aesthetic clinic near you to get you a prescription. (Luminance has to be prescribed for you).
