Rose, what a lovely statement from your DD.

NU - allow your DH to make soft furnishing decisions?! The very idea. Grin

bigTillyMint · 02/01/2016 18:06

NU, I don't involve my DH in any furnishing decisions any more. It is far less painful that way!

Yes Molly! DefinitelySmile

There will be banter tonight - DH's team got beaten 2-1 by his best mates team.

addle · 02/01/2016 18:23

Rose - that's lovely from your dd.

Dh makes most of the decorating decisions at this end, as he has string opinions, is excellent at it, and besides does the hard work.

I have a moth eaten dog and a hard stuffed koala that I slightly fear was one real koala... Children and dh rightly think they are gross but I can't quite get rid. Dd still has a drawer full of cuddlies while ds keeps his old action man and a beanie baby little David beck ham who kept losing his shorts.

Btm - how come cleverest boy in year 12at yr gaff? We've just had the (lovely) girl from Hampshire with ds over nye/NYC.

Lalsy · 02/01/2016 18:43

Aww, Rose. And don't be so hard on yourself Flowers.

I lost it with my lot today - endless round of clearing and emptying things, while dc have lie-ons and dh works so I can't/shouldn't complain because it makes him feel even worse.

I have however tried on every type of waterproof trouser known to womankind with the help of a very knowledgeable young chap. And bought none. But did get several other things I have wanted.

hattymattie · 02/01/2016 19:35

Rose - so sweet your DD. I wish her all the luck in the world.

Lalsy - have equally lost it with my lot especially DS who told me he didn't have to help or do anything except play on the computer as he is on holiday Angry. I have pretty much told him how good for nothing he is and now he is upset but every time we suggest even so much as a walk, there is a diva like tantrum.

Lalsy · 02/01/2016 20:17

Yep, exactly tho ds is usually more helpful than dd and both have shown signs of pulling themselves together after a Large Maternal Stropp earlier. Had any bin lids been lying around.....I don't know how to play it tho - wish dh could go into work when officially on holiday so the work/not work waters are not muddied and I don't feel I am setting a terrible general female dogsbody example. This has always been a problem.

Cremo · 02/01/2016 20:39

Ach Rose what a wee darlin. I would read that and think, now, there's a lovely bright positive child !

Have had the oddest combination of Panto in one room and Brethren in an another. The Plyms were out in their finest ( sparkly headbands) for an event today. Grin

We have finished the Xmas food, although Dh seems to have Bushmills flavoured whiskey fudge and has been necking it all day. I struggled home from work, ( buggering Holiday timetable on the bus) and went off to feed a friend's cat, and then had to make dinner, empty the washing machine, and lay out to dry and put on another load. And I have to work tomorrow and somehow de-rig the tree and lights. And oh yes, we have no cleaner ( my fault obviously, but you'd think a certain. Someone might pitch in Methinks Dh is taking the slovenly semi-recumbent week long feasting and sofa surfing to another level.
Fucked off about sums it up. And I have palpitations as I forgot to get a prescription filled because of Pantomimes and stuff.
Caribbean not until end of Jan. I still have to traipse through a month of induction courses and Thinking and Branding workshops or other such shite.
Give me strength.

Lalsy · 02/01/2016 21:06

Crem, can you throw a big stropp too? I am now having tea and cake brought to me on the sofa.

motherinferior · 02/01/2016 21:11

CremAngryAngry

I am reading a long and disheartening thread abut looking expensive. While wearing a large dark red woolovers jumper over Sainsbo jeggings.

Cremo · 02/01/2016 22:17

Lalsy, I have had a super strop and flounced to my bed. Grin

CointreauVersial · 02/01/2016 22:36

Damn. Didn't get the tree down today, nor did I finish grouting my splashback. We got sucked into all sorts of rubbish TV and did very little (again). Monday's going to be hell, isn't it?

At least DD1 has finally tackled her holiday homework, so that's one less battle for Sunday evening.

Lalsy · 02/01/2016 22:57

Nice one, Crem Grin.

Our tree is still up too - my special skills required there too apparently.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/01/2016 23:12

Tree still up? Tick.
Many tasks undone? Tick
Lying on sofa? Tick
Binge watching 'The Legacy' on DVD? Tick...

Can't believe it's going to be business as usual on Monday...

Collymollypuff · 02/01/2016 23:18

The Legacy is amazing! We're binge-watching Hostages - have had it recorded and waiting for months. And of course - did I mention - The Affair. GGG, you would soooo love The Affair - have you got it? Written by the people who wrote In Treatment, and it shows in spades. The teen girl dd is just...perfectly portrayed.

Collymollypuff · 02/01/2016 23:20

I want to re-watch The Legacy now. Hankering for all those characters again.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/01/2016 00:18

The Legacy is vair vair good isn't it Colly? A few people have told me about The Affair - but isn't it only on Sky? We don't have Sky...

Collymollypuff · 03/01/2016 00:49

It is only on Sky, tragically. That's why I feel a bit mean and stealth-boasty by going on about it, but surely it must come to mainstream TV since it's so good? It really is to die for. Incredibly complex characters. at it all the time

Blackduck · 03/01/2016 07:18

Hi all, tree is still up back home... Oh Friday will be fun (not)

I will get back on 5:2 on my return. I have not thought about much really over the last couple of days and intend to keep it like that.

Rudy many thanks for doing Secret Santa (forget to say that before)

It was a beautiful day here and got to 18 degrees - lovely.....

Have a good Sunday peeps. (Dps birthday so off to lunch)

bigTillyMint · 03/01/2016 09:10

BD, glad you're having funSmile
Cremo, I hope your DH is now stepping upAngry

We had a lovely catch-up with our old friends. They live in the far North London, not too far from you Rose and went to see the production at your DC's theatre, which I'm guessing was the one yours were involved with over Christmas/NY - they loved it - said it was fantastic!SmileFlowers

Can't believe we are back to work tomorrow. I know it sounds precious, but the Christmas holiday is never long enoughSad

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/01/2016 09:11

Oh Crem, welcome to my world... But without the Plymouth Brethren - I spent many hours of my childhood with the Brethren.

DH is huffily folding towels and putting them away as I don't do it properly. Taking DD1 for a haircut in a minute.

motherinferior · 03/01/2016 09:19

Towels?????

Has he thought of stepping up to other tasks than effing towels?????

bigTillyMint · 03/01/2016 09:20

MrsSShock and respect that you can get a DD up and out for a haircut at this time in the morning! I am not looking forward to trying to dig mine out of bed tomorrow.

I have a swollen gum where my tooth broke at the back of my mouth. I am going to have to see the dentist asap. And get on with sorting out getting an implant doneSad

motherinferior · 03/01/2016 09:24

Poor DSis going bonkers chez my parents.

Blackduck · 03/01/2016 09:33

Yes MrsS I'd have thought towels were down the list a bit.....
