Foundation talk

So I'm on pursuit of the perfect foundation. I have tried tinted moisturiser which was fairly good in my youth but I'm now approaching 40 ??. I moved on to mineral foundation which was ok but messy in the bathroom (always leaving a fine orangey dust everywhere!). Then came BB cream which was nice but didn't stay put.

Currently I'm using Estée Lauder double wear as I figured you pay for what you get. Here comes the but...although it is superior to any product I've tried and tested before its not quite right. It just doesn't blend well round my nose, under my eyes or near my jawline. And, yes I do prep my skin.

So what next? I don't mind paying a little more for the perfect product.

FYI, I have clear skin (seem to have finally outgrown spots!) although a little red In some areas and dry patches around my nose.

For the record I am a lady and not some creepy man ??
Brenda I thought I'd offended you because I was excluding men!

For occasions when I need a foundation that's long lasting I use Sheseido Perfect Refining Foundation. The container is tiny, only 30ml, but a little goes a very long way especially when used over a primer or bb cream and it blends perfectly using a brush, sponge, or fingers.

For every day and evenings I use Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation which seems to have built in 'illumination' that adds a glow to the complexion.

Shiseido and Kanebo cosmetics suit my clear but occasionally dry skin far more than European brands. Kanebo's eyeshadows are particularly long lasting and can be used as a subtle wash of colour or layered for a more dramatic effect.

Goddess where are those brands sold? I think I'm going to have to sample all these suggestions before I buy. I'm determined to choose the right one this time (after 25+ yrs of trying!).

Thanks this has been a really useful thread as I'm also looking for a new foundation. Have similar skin mixed oily with dry patches but darker skin with yellow tones. Any further recommendations?

Double wear is also a nightmare to remove! Shows it lasts all day I suppose Smile
