Do you like these boots?

I tried a pair of these on today, they are a bit (lot) more than i wanted to spend but most of the other boots i liked were in a similar price range. Also the girl in the shop was a bit pushy so i needed time to think. She said i could wear them in the rain and snow. Really??

I am short and fat with large calfs so can't get away with long boots, quite like the biker boot style. Will be worn for the school run, general wear and to work probably.

They were comfy, i liked that i woudlnt necessarily have to wear socks.

I did notice last winter/spring that most of the women I saw in London (when I venture up there) were wearing more biker style or riding boots, whereas in Essex (where I am) they are still clinging to their Uggs sheepskins.

Are they comfy?
If so, embrace.
£150 is a lot but you will get a good few winters from them.

stripytees · 11/10/2015 18:47

I have two pairs of biker style UGGS and yes, most of their styles are waterproof. I bought this years pair from their official UK site through Quidco to get cashback.

TheoriginalLEM · 11/10/2015 18:55

Uggs do have a more, um, common, reputation around here but they were comfy. I will probably buy them.

I had a pair in the past, not the typical style but still sheepskin and whilst they lasted ages i was scared to wear them in the rain.

I love them! Go for it!

Actually according to the Ugg website this style isn't one of the waterproof ones. Have you looked at the Grandle or Simmens? They are similar but waterproof.

Scarletforya · 11/10/2015 20:28

They're nice but the sheepskin would put me off. I'd worry they'd be too hot!

Luckystar1 · 11/10/2015 20:32

I don't have these particular boots but a very similar pair (still Ugg) and the Zips have gone twice on them. Ugg apparently don't cover zips so it costs a fortune (£80 a time) to get them replaced.

I can't see it these have zips and it may just be my wonky legs, but I have lots of other boots that this hasn't happened with.

ChinaSorrows · 11/10/2015 20:36

stripy's right. The sales assistant is wrong, they'll discolour and stain in the wet.

That said. I LOVE them.
Bugger.

EmmaWoodlouse · 11/10/2015 21:01

I like those, I have some Clarks boots that look quite similar on the outside but without the cosy lining. If you can afford them I'd say go for it.

busyboysmum · 11/10/2015 21:47

I've just ordered these:

www.treds.co.uk/product/womens-footwear/boots/ugg-australia/w-chaney/stout-bomber-sbmb/2hyi

So might? be good at this price

TheoriginalLEM · 11/10/2015 21:54

oh gawd. trouble is they only have the 8.5 ima 7.5. do you think they will be ok?

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 11/10/2015 21:55

I love them.

Chewbecca · 11/10/2015 21:58

I'd always wear socks with them?

But other than that suggestion, they're good!

TheoriginalLEM · 12/10/2015 14:11

Have just bought the ones from your link busyboysmum was looking at boots today for about that price and the quality just wasn't there.

Thank you so much!

How about these www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_283010351760?CMP=SSH&tmcampid=28&tmad=c&sku=7647266&ci_src=18615224&ci_sku=7647266&placmp=SSH_4358241016_303991375_19118266255_&gclid=Cj0KEQjwtO2wBRCu0d2dkvjVi5cBEiQAMEIVGUC3RKxBmj0eME9g7FUvHFbJUpVOBKeVBjSmuf6ynsgaAg1W8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

I bought some in tan a couple of years ago and the quality is excellent, they barely look worn. They are great in the rain and snow.

TheoriginalLEM · 12/10/2015 14:33

I might be just a leeetle bit excited :) :) haven't had new boots for a few years now and my last pair were very sensible trainer type waterproof jobbies by north face, bought in john lewis sale for £40

TheoriginalLEM · 12/10/2015 14:40

I looked at the cats in the shop but the leg was a bit too high and would have struggled to wear over trousers because i have fat calves, but yes, those are great too.

busyboysmum · 12/10/2015 20:05

I am also very excited about my pair arriving. Let's hope they fit us well! I get a new pair of Uggs each year - have had Kensingtons which are similar to these which I wore to death whilst I was pregnant. Last year I got a biker boot style in black leather which again I wore non stop. I love Uggs as they are so comfy and I think really funky.

busyboysmum · 12/10/2015 20:07

I also dithered for ages about these Cat boots instead:

www.treds.co.uk/product/womens-footwear/boots/caterpillar/anna-kick/black/1vpp

But in the end went for the Uggs as the Cat boots are faux fur.

TheoriginalLEM · 12/10/2015 21:20

What do you use to clean yours ?

OP posts:
Quornmakesmefart · 12/10/2015 22:00

I really like them - but wouldn't pay that much so would try to find something similar without paying for the Ugg brand name.

LimitedSedition · 12/10/2015 22:13

Now, Busy you have just made me buy those Cat boots!

My Fly boots have only lasted me just under a year, weren't even bloody waterproof and are now literally falling to bits, and they were £140!

Fingers crossed these fit.

I have to say, LEM my friend has those Uggs and they are really lovely.

colouringinagain · 12/10/2015 22:22

Hi LEM I'm boot shopping too.... these look fab Smile

busyboysmum · 12/10/2015 22:35

Clean them? I never clean anything ;)
