My dad is getting married in a couple of weeks and am wearing gorgeous black wide leg tousers and have seen a gorgeous black lace tunic in limited collection (m and s). reck will look fab with said trousers and killer heels but maybe too black, like im going to a funeral (although might as well be)

What do you lovelies think?

PS-am size 16/18 so black is lovely and slimming!

As long as you don't wear black I'll remain cheery!

expatinscotland · 01/12/2006 23:02

Amen, Mars!

I've put it in my will, NO black at my funeral.

I'm going to haunt anyone who wears black or plays shite music or brings bad food to my wake.

swifter · 01/12/2006 23:03

would navy make you slightly happier mars??

I wear far too much black. Fallen for the black is slimming myth!

But agree all black a bit severe for a wedding imo.

expatinscotland · 01/12/2006 23:04

No, trousers suits don't have to be officy and middle aged at all!

The new Trinny and Susannah featured on the other day that was FAB.

Wow.

Not black, either.

swifter · 01/12/2006 23:09

MarsLady · 01/12/2006 23:11

Right............. in that case... I challenge you to find a lovely bright coloured outfit for your father's day of celebration.

No dark dull colours. No nasty limes, olives, mustards, bleurrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh colours.

swifter · 01/12/2006 23:13

Praise God, Hallelujah... now I can sleep!

See you tomorrow!

expatinscotland · 01/12/2006 23:20

The world is your oyster, swifter, w/that colouring!

I have fair skin, but yellow undertones, and dark hair and eyes.

You can wear LOTS of colours. In fact, pastels will just wash out your skin.

MarsLady · 02/12/2006 11:59

Well...........???????????????????

It's Saturday!!!!!!!!

Come on come one!

I've got to go out shortly and probably won't be back till late tomorrow!

What have you found?

I haven't read all the replies (sorry) but I think you can definitely wear all black to a wedding (esp a winter wedding!! I don't think black looks out of place at a wedding. The only colour you shouldn't wear top to to at a wedding is the same as the bride!!!
Go with your initial outfit I reckon!!

sputnik · 02/12/2006 14:52

Black is considered the v. much the thing to wear for weddings in Italy, I think you should go for it if that's what you fancy. Maybe you shouldn't ask me though as I wore black to my OWN WEDDING (ducks down out of line of fire of horrified comments).

louii · 02/12/2006 15:12

Black is perfect for a winter wedding, would be different if it was July.

Just wear your original outfit , I am sure you will look fab!
