Dubarry Longford: stop me bankrupting myself!

I've fallen in love with these bad boys, in the walnut colour. But they're so expensive!

Does anyone know of any good sites or shops for discounted Dubarry? Or are there any boots that look like these but don't cost ££££££££?

I want brown not black, pull-on, Gore-Tex, good and sturdy, look good worn stumping round town as well as tramping through the countryside.

I bought very similar boots from a brand called Toggi. (I just couldn't justify dubarry prices but the boots shown are amazing!)

I don't know if they're cool, but they're waterproof and warm (apparently) and I love the look of them.

No, they don't HAVE to be Dubarry, although I wouldn't want a pair that looked like Dubarry rip-offs; I'd just have some that looked like themselves, IYSWIM. I just happen to love the Dubarry Longfords.

But I do like these Dublin ones and they're more affordable. I just don't know if I like them as much as the Longfords.

I saw these on a girl on the tube 2 yrs ago . I loved them I really did . Dubarry have a factory in Galway with a shop so thought maybe they might be a little chea per there . Should anyone ever be in the area -???? im in ireland not anywhere n ear galway unfortunately ????

I wear my Dubarrys pretty much all winter. Never wear them in town, just out walking the dog and shooting. I have their fat calf version to fit my woolly socks. I reckon on a 'price per wear' calculation, that they're worth it.

I did see some Musto ones which looked quite good, but not as 'town worthy' as the Dubarrys.

If you have the cash, think about cost per wear.

In the winter I wear them every day for dog walking & they are warm, comfortable and supportive. I don't get cold or wet feet watching dcs play sport, I would recommend them. I have managed to get a 10% discount by buying them from Harrods when they have a 10% off day. You might be able to do the same with Selfridges if you sign up to their mailing list. I tried them on first so I'd know what size to get if I saw them cheap on line.

OP I actually bought these exact boots last year and within two months they were on eBay. I ride and work at a yard and still nothing would tempt me to fork out for another pair. They were really uncomfy and bulky...

I ordered these boots last year but had to return them. The top is really wide, so they actually looked like weird wellies when on. I swapped for the Gallaway which is much narrower and perfect for dog walking. I wouldn't wear them other than dog walking or country walks though, they are not particularly stylish.

Honestly I prefer the Dublin ones. Particularly the Pinnacle, with the cool lacing down the side - I've had my eyes on those for a while.

My sister has Dubarry boots and is obsessed with them, but I've tried them on and didn't really see why they cost so much more than other country boots, tbh.

I should preface this by saying I am shit at fashion and style. Please don't stab me with the nail files for posting! I really have no right to give anyone fashion advice.

If you are slim, short(ish) and have smallish feet (I'm a 5), it's worth looking in kids' ranges. I have a pair of boots a bit like that - I got them from Jones a few years back in the child's line. They are a bit like this (but years old now) and they cost me a princely £20 in the sale:

I've had the dubarry Galway boots for about three years....I practically live in them and they are still in fab condition (very muddy and wet here) and completely waterproof. I think you can justify them on a cost per wear basis if you live in the countryside and think you would wear them a lot not helpful sorry!
