How many pairs of footwear (shoes, boots etc) do you have?

I'm working on building up a decent footwear collection of my own, with no cheap crapppy stuff, just lots of supportive comfy pairs that make me feel good. I cant' handle loads of clutter so am going to try to keep it to under 30 pairs. That's everything - boots, smart shoes, trainers, sandals, the whole lot.

So just out of nosiness, how many pairs do you have and how/where do you store them?

I have 10 pairs of converse and some dm's. I keep them chucked in the bottom of my wardrobe. I keep 3 pairs by the door and swap them round when I can be bothered

Ooh stripytees, the Grenson brogues..... I've seen lots of them on the enbrogue.com website and they look heavenly but are sooooooo expensive! Do you think they're worth saving for / putting on the birthday list?

Yes, I love mine. Two of my pairs were from sales and cost a lot less. I think of them as investment shoes that will last for years when looked after well.

Loads of boots. All comfy and decent quality. Probably about 5 pairs of ankle boots, 10 pairs of knee boots, 5 pairs of over the knee boots-ish, I think (without looking upstairs). I wear them all autumn/winter, and buy 2 or 3 new pairs every year and chuck out which ever ones are grotty.

Gazillions of sandals. Probably 30-40 pairs. I have about 5 that I wear LOADS, and then others that go with particular outfits.

Only a few pairs of heels (5?), as I find them bloody uncomfortable and only wear when absolutely necessary.

1 pair of trainers for the gym.


I don't wear 'shoes'. I go from boots to sandals and back to boots again.

Put it this way: when we moved house, five years ago, the removals men asked whether a giant centipede lived with us.

It's at least 100 pairs. Some of them I can't even walk very far in. I don't care, though.

About 6 pairs ankle boots
3 long boots
About 15 pairs trainers
5 pairs flip flops, 3 pairs birkies, 10 pairs sandals and about 25-30 pairs of various flats.
40-50 pairs of heels of which I wear approximately 3 regularly

I would guess at around 30 pairs and they live either in the boxes under the bed or by the front door.

It's quite lean isn't it? And yes I do have trouble with my feet.

I am in desperate need of some more casual flats like ballet pumps. I can never find any I like though.

You're all so restrained! I have a king bed with an ottoman base and it's pretty full. And my wardrobe. And the hallway.

I'm not even a shoe person, they go with outfits for weddings etc. Day to day ones aren't that many but I mustn't be very hard wearing on them, they last for ages unless they're cheap.
