Depends where you're going and who with. Also what body shape you are. I think this would look fantastic on someone petite, with a big hat and vertiginous heels, at a wedding, but for me, ancient, tallish, not so good.
It wouldn't be for me

CatSwag · 09/05/2015 09:59

I'm sort of hour glass/pear
Tried it on and it's a good fit

Very pretty!

shadesofwinter · 09/05/2015 10:13

I think it's a lovely dress but may be too much for lunches, depending of course on where you go for lunch.

polyhymnia · 09/05/2015 10:17

Pretty but OTT for lunches unless they are very formal.

QueenBean · 09/05/2015 10:17

I think it's lovely and would easily suit lots of body types

QueenBean · 09/05/2015 10:17

Ps, where are you going for lunch??!

Eliza22 · 09/05/2015 10:17

Hourglass could wear it well IMO. It depends how "posh" you lunch and what others are wearing. You may feel a little dressed up if your fellow diners are more casual chic.

alwayshavepeckham · 09/05/2015 10:20

Lunch at a fancy hotel, perfect
Lunch at the garden centre whilst buying compost, too dressy.

Have you tried it on? The mesh description sounds like it might be very sweaty.

TheHappinessTrap · 09/05/2015 10:30

A formal lunch, yes. Be careful though, it looks from one of the photos that it isn't lined.

Judydreamsofhorses · 09/05/2015 10:31

Lovely dress with a beautiful print, but for me it's a bit formal for lunch unless it was a posh family do or similar. But I'm more of the skinny jeans/nice blouse school for lunch so a bit more casual.

DorothyBastard · 09/05/2015 10:52

It's lovely. I'd wear it out for lunches happily, probably with a denim jacket or a little cardi to make it look a bit more casual. I only wish I had £100 spare to buy it myself!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 09/05/2015 11:01

It's a very pretty dress and As you say it's a good fit. The. What's not love.

cashewnutty · 09/05/2015 11:03

I love those Phase 8 dresses. I have three in that sort of style. I am wearing one to a fairly formal lunch on Sunday. They are comfortable, stretchy and very flattering.

dexter73 · 09/05/2015 11:21

I would wear it to lunch. I think it is really pretty.

Floisme · 09/05/2015 11:44

The pattern's a bit too full-on for me personally (I'm too short) but I'd like it on someone else. I'm not sure about wearing it to lunch - unless it was with the queen but then I just don't have that kind of lifestyle.

dexter73 · 09/05/2015 11:56

I don't have that kind of lifestyle either. I just like dressing up at any opportunity! I wore a dress and heels to the pub last night and everyone else was just in their jeans!

burnishedsilver · 09/05/2015 12:03

Yes. I think it could work.

CatSwag · 09/05/2015 19:40

i can be an bit of an over dresser, but suppose I should really care if I fit in, and if I like it get it.
I really like the pattern, but I tend to wear a lot of florals
so its quite me
I think a white/cream cardi, might help dress it down, any other ideas that could help dress it down a bit

bishboschone · 09/05/2015 20:43

You could wear it with wedges which would dress it down . Possibly a smart denim jacket too

SomeKindOfDeliciousBiscuit · 11/05/2015 19:00

I really wouldn't wear that with a denim jacket. Neat black cardi if anything will tone it down a bit.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/05/2015 19:22

That looks a bit too weddingy to me, lovely dress though. I agree it looks see through from one of the photos.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/05/2015 19:31

Yes a neat black cardi would work well I think.

Twinklestein · 11/05/2015 19:39

It's only see through at the bottom, you can see there's a slip that stops a couple of inches above the hem.

Twinklestein · 11/05/2015 19:41

It is a bit ott for ordinary lunches...
