My thoughts exactly. More weddingy. I hate being overdressed personally.

polyhymnia · 12/05/2015 17:21

But then I'm a Londoner and I think perhaps we ten to the dressed down.

After years living in London it surprised me the first time I went to the theatre after moving out- everyone was so smartly dressed! Grin

polyhymnia · 12/05/2015 17:51

I can believe it!

CatSwag · 12/05/2015 21:20

I could never wear that to a wedding ,I would feel to casual in that!
but that's just me
I know I tend to over dress so its interesting to hear others views

I would put that dress and the original one in the same bracket, dressiness wise!

CatSwag · 12/05/2015 22:18

really? that's interesting, I think because of the sticky out ness of the baby blue dress, to be that looks more dressy

I agree, both as dressy, both weddingy. Both lovely but too much for lunches imoGrin

CatSwag · 12/05/2015 23:18

I might get that blue dress, as I bet if I do get any wedding invites, I won't have a thing to wear

I spent a decade eating lunches at glossy London restaurants, and the floral dress screams 'wedding - stick a fascinator on!'' to me. What kind of lunches are you thinking of, OP?

beigesheepclothes · 12/05/2015 23:54

Its a lovely dress, I think if i saw someone wearing it I'd reckon they were giving a nod to the vintagey style which is not a bad thing at all! Smile

i agree with whoever said that people tend to dress down a bit for formal lunches in London, i could imagine some student friends wearing that for a formal lunch out in York/BAth!

accessories would depend on your colouring/height/build OP? maybe just nude ballet flats (or heels like the model has on) i think over accessories would make it a bit too fussy/costumey.

Twinklestar2 · 13/05/2015 07:12

I would put both dresses in the same category too but class the second one as more 'young'. How old are you?
