Frugal you may have created a a very happy monster Grin I'm thinking of ordering the Missha Cho Bo Yang BB cream at the same time as that gets loads of really good reviews too...

On the advice gleaned from earlier posts, I'm trying to keep order values as low as possible in an attempt to avoid the wrath of customs - that just means lots of smaller orders instead of one biggie Grin

Sheet mask update: well, I am converted.
The my beauty diary mask I tried (pearl flavour, in a white box) is luscious. It smells 'clean', a bit like baby powder, and the essence is quite gel-like, there was so much of it, it was running down my chin. Anyway the mask fit well and was comfortable, and I was actually quite impressed when I took it off - skin really did look plumped up. I'm not sure if that will last, but will update tomorrow ;-). Will probably follow with a dose of snail and starfish for an Asian Beauty extravaganza.

My, I order lots of little parcels...I'm a saddo who watches out for the postie coming & gets all excited at little parcels though Grin

Frugal, thanks for the Alicia Yoon link, that was really interesting. I'm intrigued by the rubbery peel off occlusive...I don't think she gave it a name though Confused

MidLifeMakeover · 23/05/2015 21:09

I'm following this thread with interest but I've read too much (and the Reddit post) and I don't know where to start.

Frugal I followed a link to a eBay mask you posted early on and it was £102! I'm wondering if that is a mistake or if cheaper ones are fake?

So where to start?

I'm 38, my skin on the whole is okay but I have fine lines and occasional break outs. I have a bit of a red nose that I tend to get tiny white heads on. I've probably damaged my skin with too much sun exposure in my twenties.

I was thinking some sun screen to start and a few masks?

ForSaleChesterDraws · 23/05/2015 21:11

Frugal- get them! They are wonderful and stop things languishing at the back of a cupboard unused as you can pick the whole thing up!

bigbuttons · 23/05/2015 21:12

I must be strong, I must be strong.

MidLifeMakeover · 23/05/2015 21:12

MyMeMy can you link me the BB cream that you say is working well please. Sorry I tried to search on my phone but it's playing up.

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:16

lucysmam my husband works from home. Every morning before I leave for the office he asks me whether I'm expecting any deliveries... I can never quite remember, but send him several 'casual enquiry' emails throughout the dayGrin

Explaining the contents of the deliveries can be a little challenging too Grin

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:27

Mid, they've hiked the price on those ones, they were around the £2.99 mark when I first clicked.

If you're in the uk, svetlanakiss2015 sell three for £1.75 and 80p postage so you get three (of the same) for £2.55 and there are all sorts to choose from.

I changed my mind about the sheet mask & went for the eye mask instead. They're not re-useable and I can't find any dry ones on ebay either, which is a shame because there's loads of the liquid left in the package. They're made of a weird gelly type stuff - feels odd on but they're not uncomfortable & are pleasantly cool, like the sheet mask. Dd1 is most amused and keeps giggling at me Grin

Thanks for the storage ideas...I prefer pretty to functional iyswim but have bookmarked Muji (years since I had anything from there) to have a browse around tomorrow.

I daren't put it all in the bathroom - dd2 is a nightmare for experimenting Hmm and dp would randomly use stuff he fancies a try of (maybe not a bad thing?) so I want to keep it all together on my chest of drawers.

I don't mind carting stuff about as I use it, the house is teeny so things tend to go straight away when I use them.

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:28

Mid its this one:
shop.missha-deutschland.de/epages/es133810.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es133810/Products/1001

Coverage is great, finish is lovely, weirdly natural but makes my skin look lovely. I have tried LOADS of high end products including Western BB creams and tinted moisturisers, but this is in a different league. And it's not even slightly orange Grin

My skin has improved loads since I began double cleansing and using Skinceuticals retinol 0.5 a couple of times a week (I also use their CE Ferulic serum which is amazing), but my pores are very visible (to me anyway) and I have some redness around my nose - the Missha BB cream covers it all.

I've hated my skin since I was a very young teenager, but now 49 my skin looks better than it has ever done Smile

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:30

Grin My, I'm half hoping dp is not here when my snail gel arrives just so I don't have to do any explaining. Love the casual enquiries emails, must remember to do that over the coming weeks...it'll do my dp's nut in on his days off if I'm out and about.

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:32

I should also add that I use Helliocare factor 50 gel sunscreen every day (red hair, pale skin, mother has had loads of rodent ulcers so am extremely vigilant) which I like very much, but I'm interested in trying the Asian brands now...

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:35

Ha ha lucysmam, I just tell him its sunscreen or shampoo whilst not making eye contact - the way I look at it is I could be telling far worse fibs than that! Grin

bigbuttons · 23/05/2015 21:36

memy I got some heliocare 50 gel. I find it very heavy. It has given me spots.

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:39

Very true, it could be a lot worse Smile

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:40

bigbuttons while you're not browsing the thread for exciting links Wink ...is it glycerine like in the baking aisle I need for the vit c serum? Smile

MidLifeMakeover · 23/05/2015 21:40

Thanks

Which shade did you go for? I'm normally (on foundation) one up from the palest - I've never brought something like this online before.

bigbuttons · 23/05/2015 21:45

lucy even though I can't see what you posted because my hands are covering my eyes, the answer is 'yes', it's the same stuff you buy in the baking aisle!

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:46

Grin thank you, I'll see if Tesco is cheaper than ebay.

bigbuttons · 23/05/2015 21:47

Sorry myme got your name back to front!Blush

bigbuttons · 23/05/2015 21:50

lucy I used to buy little bottles at the supermarket. In the end I bought a big bottle from ebay.it works out cheaper. But go and get yourself a small bottle to get you started! If you get frustrated with the LAA not dislolving I can give you tips!

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 21:53

Tesco don't seem to have it! Shock I'll order a small bottle on ebay as a starter, it'll be another parcel to look forward to.

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:55

bigbuttons its one of the only sunscreens that hasn't given me spots (yes, I still get the bloody things at 49!) and it's less shiney than any other I've tried. I would like something completely non shiney but not drying if such a thing exists though, have you found anything like that?

Mid I'm a B20 in the YSL Touche Éclat foundation and NW20 in MAC, I ordered samples of 21 and 23 - both are good, but the 21 is a little too pale for me. I'd say it was worth ordering the samples from the German web site, even with the more expensive because I'm too immature to wait postage option it was still very reasonable.

MyMeMy · 23/05/2015 21:56

Don't worry bigbuttons its a stupid name anyway, can't even remember where it came from!

lucysmam · 23/05/2015 22:09

I can't remember who linked holysnails.com but have just had a quick mooch. I'll have a proper look tomorrow for the diy stuff in there so thank you Smile
