Where can I get brilliant black skinny jeans from?

Need to fit a shortarse.
Nice and black and keep colour well.
Not go baggy.
Cost less than £60.
The M&S jeggings are now failing me. I still love the pale wash blue ones, but the black ones now fade within weeks and go baggy within a few hours of wear.

Please help! :)

Had an amazing pair of AllSaints ones in their sale, called 'Biker'. Were reduced to £60 (Confused). Wore them on a 7 hour car journey round trip - no baggy arse.

Thanks all. Have just nipped into town and bought a v cheap Primark pair to keep me going whilst I peruse all the options. Grin

Surely the blackness is down to how you wash them ... Washing powder has bleach in it so you need to wash separatelywitj colour liquid to prevent fading .

ScrambedEggAndToast · 04/05/2015 17:18

Love mine from Next petite range. They fit perfectly and even after being washed loads they've kept their colour and haven't shrunk.

Itsalldramarama · 04/05/2015 17:25

My top shop Jamie's black skinny were a fab fit but after being folded In the wardrobe ( waiting for me to lose a stone ! ) they faded drastically where they were folded :( had to throw out !

noddyholder · 04/05/2015 17:38

I always go back to Primark push up push in black skinnies such a good fir and stay black for ages plus the colour they fade to is still really nice and I keep wearing them! £12

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2015 17:41

The ones I got today were very high waisted Primark ones - a tenner. They seem a better fit than the M&S jeggings - much more snug on the knees and bum.

I'll have a look at the Next ones - would never of thought of looking in there. Have deffo decided against the Topshop ones.

H&M high waisted skinnies are amazing and less than £30.

ruby1234 · 04/05/2015 18:27

I buy black washing machine dye (Dylon I think) from Home Bargains - it costs £2.99 and you just wash black jeans in it - transforms them back to jet blackness.

noddyholder · 04/05/2015 18:33

Yes these are high waisted have them on today they have seams on the bum for 'lift' :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2015 18:41

Re the machine dye - does the dye then dye everything else in the next wash? Am a bit scared of it!

I'll have a look for the bum lift ones next, Noddy, if I like these ones.

ruby1234 · 04/05/2015 18:42

Dye - no it doesn't dye the next wash. After using it you do an empty wash to rinse out the machine. I have never had it change the colour of anything afterwards.

avocadotoast · 04/05/2015 18:43

Remus, my friend reckons not, but I must admit I've never used it as I'd be a bit scared! I'm sure if you ran the machine empty a couple of times afterwards it'd be totally fine though.

Paddingtonthebear · 04/05/2015 20:41

I have four current pairs of Primark super skinnies. All under a year old and all have lost their shape and faded, three of them have dodgy loose zips that continuously undo. Prior to these I had two pairs of their super skinnies, one pair lasted ages but the other pair faded and the zip went all loose again. All of them are the same size but some of them from day one have been tighter than others. It doesn't really make sense. I think they are very comfortable and along with the price that's why I kept buying them, but quality wise it's a complete lottery with primark! I could have bought some really decent jeans with the amount I've spent on primark jeans to be fair!

lurkingaround · 04/05/2015 20:53

Dye is a doddle and INCREDIBLY satisfying. Come out like new. As a famous poster once said or sort of said 'it's like crack', it's that good Grin

But do not skip doing an empty wash with bleach, and give the rubbery bits a wipe.

AwayAndRunUpMaHumf · 04/05/2015 21:27

I got fab ones from Tesco, they have gold zippers and come in long length too.

FuckingLiability · 04/05/2015 21:31

I've been very pleased with the Gap high rise skinnies which have kept their shape and fit well. The only problem is that the black ones have holes in.

Dyeing is an option, I hadn't considered that.

libertychick · 04/05/2015 21:53

I love my Levi skinny and straight leg black jeans - bit over budget but good reduction in JL. TKMaxx often does Levis at about £30 - £40 (this is where mine came from). I dye them about every 6 months or so just to keep that 'new jeans' look.

Don't be afraid of Dyelon - it's amazing stuff and does not stain following wash. I always run what I am dying through with dyelon then do a wash immediately of the same item to clean the machine and remove excess dye from the clothes. DH freaked out when he first saw me do it as he was convinced the machine would be ruined. Now he is a total convert and dyes all his jeans (he wears brown, burgundy, black and indigo) regularly to keep them looking new.

libertychick · 04/05/2015 21:55

Oh yes and you do need to give the rubber seal a wipe around with bleach - not that the dye gets into other washes, just that the machine can look a bit dirty especially after black dye.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2015 22:08

Our washing machine is only a couple of months old. I don't think I will be brave enough for a fair while yet! I might try one of the old fashioned cold water dyes, but, tbh, the problem with the M&S ones isn't just the fading; it's the bagginess too.

I'll be completely honest with you all here.
I never wash my black jeans.
Yes, perhaps I am disgusting but any washing black jeans just fades them instantly.
I just spot clean them or rub a damp sponge over them if they get dirty. I can't afford to keep replacing jeans or buying Dylon dye.
Anyway my jeans are the high waisted super skinny ones from new look.

noddyholder · 04/05/2015 22:41

You must wash them at some stage ????

Postchildrenpregranny · 04/05/2015 22:52

Sainsburys
Good fit, washed (inside out at 40degrees) several times and no sign of fade .
Cheap too .

CointreauVersial · 04/05/2015 23:47

Uniqlo.

Nice thick denim which holds its shape well.

coffeenut · 05/05/2015 01:09

Have you tried the mint velvet remus? I haven't myself but have heard a lot of good things.
