Does anyone (successfullly) wear 1950's style/swing dresses/outfits?

Ive always loved the style but never been brave enough to try it. Ive always stuck to jeans and a jumper but i would like to branch out a bit and maybe break myself in gently, however i am worried about wasting money on things that dont suit and looking ridiculous. I love the dresses but they arent very practical for day to day wear so would love advice on what sort of outfits i could wear. Are there any websites i could go to for ideas or advice?

I go a bit more late fifties/early sixties than most of you by the sound of it, but have had a few nice bits from Dickins and Jones - cardis and things, and a very nice shirtwaister this summer if you want something slightly less obvious. Nice shorts with a jumper are a favourite here too when it gets warmer.

I have a dress very like this which I love to pieces. I wear it with pearls and court shoes usually, and it looks very dressed up, but not at all like I'm pushing the vintage look.

I do have one 'proper' swing dress, but I only ever wear it for swing dancing!

Hi all, i don think it has been mentioned yet but during my online browsing i came across another website that has some lovely things and isnt expensive either its little wings factory they have some lindy bop stuff on there amongst others.
