At last! I get to use my thread title.

Over here, my hags.

OP posts:
Stropperella · 15/03/2015 20:55

We have had the car 10 effing years. Angry This was within an hour of him coming back from the supposed Mother's Day shopping expedition with a large box of beer, which he tried to wrestle into place on the floor at the back of the larder cupboard, thereby breaking one of the bottles and covering the floor with beer. And then getting huffy with me when I said he needed to get everything off the floor and mop it. He's had better days.
As for dd, I am trying hard to believe that she will get her act together and trying not to let it all drive me to drink/into an early grave. I have been extremely tempted to do a bit of bin-stomping today. Grin Grin

Stropperella · 15/03/2015 21:02

x-posts Crem, oh no, I'm really sorry to hear the hideous germs have reached you too. It sounds really miserable. Hope dh is giving you tlc.

bigTillyMint · 15/03/2015 21:16

Oh CremoSad You are having such a crappy time. Do you think you might be recovered and able to travel over for the meet-up on 25th April?

And Hatty, NU, EA?

Stropps, you deserve another big fat medal. Or a bin to stamp on!

QueenQueenie · 15/03/2015 21:21

Not sure if it's psychosomatic from reading this thread but I've got a bit of a headache and feel a bit queasy... do I need Brian?

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/03/2015 22:16

You need wine Wine QQ.

QueenQueenie · 15/03/2015 22:53

Well they almost rhyme!

Auriga · 15/03/2015 22:59

Sorry to hear you're in the sick bay again Crem. I've been spared the vomiting so far but had disgusting flu, mouth ulcers and sciatica (partly own fault for trying to help DH move a book case). Getting slowly better, thanks for kind messages.

As always nowadays, viral infection seems to have accelerated symptoms of dementia. Not being flippant, btw, it's a genuine observation. Just hope convalescence will bring back a bit of customary brian power.

Family made zero effort for Mothering Sunday. But I took breakfast in bed to DM and we all had pizza in front of the fire for tea. And oldest friend rang from Boston Grin

EmilyAlice · 16/03/2015 07:14

Is 25th April in London? Not sure if I will be in the UK but would love to come if I am. We will need to go over around that time probably.
Today is dreary and grey. We need to cut hedges and take stuff to the tip. Boring or what?
Still hacking away with post-viral cough. Three weeks and counting.....

lalsy · 16/03/2015 07:39

We're gonna need a bigger sick bay......

Crem, that sounds utterly grim Flowers.

Auriga, hope you feel better soon.

I can't make 25th. Bah.

bigTillyMint · 16/03/2015 07:46

It is, EA. Fingers crossed!

I have to say, I quite fancy hedge cutting and taking stuff to the tip...

motherinferior · 16/03/2015 08:03

Been for a Ladyjog in the rain (a Ladysoggy?) and must now turn to whatever pressing business is most pressing. I live in hope that this current frenzy will abate (leaving me worried about starving in gutter obvsGrin). I shall do Real Writing for an hour first, dammit. The lesbertarians are calling.

Blackduck · 16/03/2015 08:37

Oh Cremo :(
(I am feeling personally responsible for all the heaving going on as I think I mentioned it first...)

Here DDog not good so got up at 1.30am to clean up the floor, and then again at 3.30 to let him out so am feeling somewhat wasted......

MontserratCaballe · 16/03/2015 10:51

So sorry for all the sickness on the thread. I hope everyone who is ailing feels better soon Flowers

Just done a PT session then a quick bath, cooking up a storm and then some work. Yuk. Still, less for me to do later in the week.

Have a good Monday everyone.

NUFC69 · 16/03/2015 11:09

Crem, I am so sorry to hear about your problems - I can imagine that your back must be playing up dreadfully because of them. The lurgy seems to be spreading northwards through the ether - should I be worried? BD, I hope you have a better time soon.

I have also been exercising today and am now having a restorative red bush tea. I swam for 50 minutes and then did aquafit for an hour so am feeling very virtuous. Crem, would exercise in a pool help you, as I find that whatever I do in the water tends not to hurt afterwards, unlike other things.

I am afraid I will be missing on the 25th as we'll be in Majorca. I was wondering about coming down for the day sometime during the summer if people are around, but need to think about it

MI, feast or famine then for work? Well done with continuing on with your book.

MontserratCaballe · 16/03/2015 11:29

Ooooh, NU, where are you going in Mallorca? I am going in May (staying in the West, in Puerto Andratx) with my girlfriends and I cannot wait. I have been many times over the years and know the island really well.

Crem, I hope you are feeling a little better now and that Brian can go back where he belongs.

motherinferior · 16/03/2015 11:53

Oh let joy be unconfined. Have to replace an ENTIRE EFFING FEATURE for CDiff. Circs outwith control. Am going round and round chasing tail. ARGH.

wilbur · 16/03/2015 13:50

Hellooo crepeys - long time no see, or even lurk. Glad to see everyone still chatting away and sorry to hear there have been crepeys coming down with bugs in various parts of the world. I won't bore you with everything going on here - not that I would be able to remember as the sieve-like memory is in full action at the moment - but we have started the building work on our house (I can here a discussion in Polish going on on the other side of my taped up kitchen door) and so we are now living in the living room, appropriately, with quite a reasonable temporary kitchen set up for us in here. The week running up to getting started were horrendous with quotes coming in and having to be looked at, building control people asking questions I couldn't answer, and boxes and boxes of crap in the house to go through and throw away or find a place to store. We're still not done on that front, but we are a long way through it all, and have sent a satisfying amount of stuff to the tip and charity shop.

I'm still working the extra day a week to cover a maternity leave, but will stop that in the Easter hols, which will be bliss as I really can't keep control of my life while working full time and trying to rebuild the house, feed and care for children, and run the rentals on the holiday let we have. Waaaay too much to fit in. So I haven't been ignoring you all, just very time-poor at present. Will try and to keep up a bit more as I miss the chat!

motherinferior · 16/03/2015 14:19

RISPECKT, Wilbur.

Stropperella · 16/03/2015 14:25

Woah, Wilbur, that is proper Superwoman stuff!! You must have seriously superior organisational talents.

bigTillyMint · 16/03/2015 15:29

Definitely, Wilbur - that is a very heavy load!

hattymattie · 16/03/2015 15:49

Hello Wilbur - courage with the building - it'll be worth it in the end but is hateful whilst it's happening. Well done with keeping your head above water.

CointreauVersial · 16/03/2015 19:00

Wilburrrr!

I'm currently at IKEA with DD2, eating meat balls and buying bag clips and tea lights (oh, and a unit for DD2's bedroom). Tis quiet!

wilbur · 16/03/2015 19:18

Thanks - mostly it is fine as we love the house so much and feel so lucky to have it, we're prepared for the chaos of rewiring replumbing and all the other things it needs. I may change that tune when they disconnect my washing machine, however.Wink What I have noticed in taking on a bit too much is that the brain, crepey or otherwise, really does get too full - when there's a lot to remember, I forget most of it, but on quieter days I can hear the sound of cogs whirring and all sorts of things I had forgotten pop back into my head. I'm taking comfort from the fact that it's all still in there somewhere.

Sorry for double post - am on my phone with fat fingers.
