Too old to consider this cardigan?

I love this cardigan, it's an Orla Kiely one. However I wonder whether I'm going to look daft in it as I'm 38? It isn't cheap so I don't want to make an expensive mistake! Any comments?

I'm 37 and Id wear it, I might actually buy it, I am seeing it with a white shirt, dark skinnies and my Orla heels.

Spidergirl8 · 07/03/2015 16:43

Thanks Brillo! I just fancy buying a few things that I've coveted for a while but have felt guilty buying because of the price! With 40 closing in, I'm thinking to just be a little less cautious with an odd treat or two ;)

My grandma wouldn't consider herself too old for that cardigan. It's pretty old ladyish!

MehsMum · 07/03/2015 16:45

I'd wear it.
(Fifty is getting uncomfortably close!)

SirVixofVixHall · 07/03/2015 16:46

Wear what you like and don't worry about your age. You are 37 and it is a cardigan, not a PVC micro-mini or a satin basque and fishnets.

Spidergirl8 · 07/03/2015 16:48

Ha ha- never thought about it as old ladyish! So maybe it will age me ;)

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/03/2015 16:49

Ha, I wear fishnets often too!
I just wear what I like really.

RedCrayons · 07/03/2015 16:55

Too young for you? It's a cardigan,

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/03/2015 16:59

I've ordered it, thanks op, or maybe not since my bank account now hates me Grin

stripytees · 07/03/2015 17:33

Ooh, I want it.

I'm 32 so I could wear it for quite a few years to come, it would practically pay for itself, wouldn't it? Grin

Orla Kiely stuff usually makes it into TKMaxx - you might want to wait a few months and see if it pops up there in the Autumn!

BuzzardBird · 07/03/2015 17:49

If I wore that I would look like Rita Fairclough (or whatever her name is this week) Grin

calzone · 07/03/2015 17:50

Can you post a clicky link so I can see.....Smile.....am on a tablet.
TIA

Spidergirl8 · 07/03/2015 17:52

Ooh- which TKMaxx? I've never seen any Orla clothing stuff in there, just handbags

My granny wouldn't touch that cardigan, she'd say it was too old.

But I think you could get away with it if you're under 10.

mammuzzamia · 07/03/2015 17:57

I think it looks really cheap too. I could imagine them trying to flog that on QVC or one of those shopping Grin

I like Orla Kiely too but I'd never guess that came from their clothing ranges.

mammuzzamia · 07/03/2015 17:57

shopping channels

Leviticus · 07/03/2015 18:00

I can't see a link but it doesn't matter.

You'll be dead a long time so if you think it's beautiful buy it and enjoy it!

MargoReadbetter · 07/03/2015 18:01

I don't know what is on it, looks like a cat with a swirly tail. I've enlarged as much as i can on my phone.

nancy75 · 07/03/2015 18:03

What is the black thing on it supposed to be?

mammuzzamia · 07/03/2015 18:06

It's a tasteful black silhouette of a cat.

MargoReadbetter · 07/03/2015 18:10

So it IS a cat. That's fine then. I'd wear it, why not?!

OrinocoTheWomble · 07/03/2015 18:18

I've found Orla jumpers/cardigans at Hatfield TKMaxx, and once, at Kew Retail Village - used to have a lovely striped one!

Nervo · 07/03/2015 18:21

It's definitely old ladyish. Nice old ladyish though. I like it.
