Goddamn knee high boots won't go over fat calves...

The calves on my leg, not in the field, obviously. Hang my head in shame. I really really want knee highs and don't like the fabric ones, want gorgeous leather ones, preferably brown. Help me please!

Thanks so much for these links-have just ordered
these

bundle · 19/10/2006 10:18

piffle which duos do you have?

wordgirl · 19/10/2006 10:22

Ooh, they are lovely WitchICouldGiveUpWork! And a bit of a bargain to boot (ha ha!) Might have to order a pair myself.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 19/10/2006 10:49

I like those Fiona ones, but I'm not a wide fit, do they come in standard widths too ?

Piffle · 19/10/2006 12:40

bundle I have the duo ravennas, flat, soft and soooo comfy onto my 2nd winter in them

tribpot · 19/10/2006 12:45

Wow, the ravennas look great - are they too bulky to go under trousers?

cece · 19/10/2006 17:32

WitchICouldGiveUpWork

I have wide feet and the duo ones fit fine for me. A have two pairs of flat ones but neither are in the catalogue this year

bundle · 19/10/2006 17:33

piff I am thinking Malmos, though the Ravennas are nice

SSSandy · 19/10/2006 17:35

but WHY are knee-high boots made so narrowly usually? Surely hardly anyone fits into them?

Orlando · 19/10/2006 17:39

Bundle, ordered the Malmos this week. They are gorge, but the ones that matched the size of calf I measured (a hefty friesan) were too tight. Ordered next calf size up and found the actual foot part was way too big.

Don't know if I am just an odd size (well I do know that but don't like to dwell on it) or if I got sent a dodgy pair, but what I do know is that it cost me £14.80 at the PO this morning to send both back.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 19/10/2006 17:45

Yes - that's the problem with Duo - it does cost loads to send them back if they're not right. I'd love to visit them either in Bath or at their new place in London.

bundle · 19/10/2006 17:45

orlando

must carefully measure my heifer calves

bundle · 19/10/2006 17:46

new place in london? thought they were only in the provinces...

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 19/10/2006 17:49

Yes - in Savile Row (scroll down a bit on that page)- only just opened there. I think they stock one of every size, and you go and try on, then order and they deliver to you, as if you'd ordered online or over the phone.

bundle · 19/10/2006 18:00

thanks jackieno, that's really helpful

WitchICouldGiveUpWork · 19/10/2006 18:04

Thanks cece-think I may have to have a trip to Saville Row.

Ggirl-didn't think Next did wide fit-must look more closely when am next in there.

scatterbrain · 19/10/2006 21:11
