footwear for wet weather holidays - practical and stylish?

If you were flying to eg Ireland on budget airline with minimal luggage in late spring, what would you bring as your footwear selection? Something that could cover city visits, casual pubs, the odd restaurant, wet weather walks, beaches, but in as few choices as possible (ie I can't bring 4 pairs of shoes, much as I'd like to!).

It's the practical waterproof option that's my difficulty - I live in converse or ankle boots but they'll get trashed!

Affordable ideas please?
And thinking about it, I have the same dilemma for DDs too!

I would buy a cheap pair of wellies when I got there.

I'd bring another pair of ankle boots or shoes for indoors.

DDs just get wellies and some warm socks

I would take a pair of ilse Jacobsen waterproof lace up boots for everything outside. I'd take some slipper socks and also some indoor shoes - ankle boots if possible but something like Bloch ballet pumps if space was too much of an issue.

Second the Ilse Jacobsens! I spent a long weekend in Venice in them (the ankle boot version). Not only are they waterproof but they are also snuggly and toasty and great for really long walks. I wear them with woolen socks and slip in sheepskin insoles in the winter (size down, I'm EUR 40.5 and 40 is ample even with woolen socks and insoles). I spend a lot of time in wet Scandinavia and they are my go-to winter footwear there too. In Venice, they were stylish enough for most restaurants. Mine are olive green and many years old but I saw some pairs on sale on Plumo around Christmas!

Knee length riding boots or slim wellies, can tuck jeans into them and they look fairly chic (would go for black or conservative colour)
