Those 'boyfriend' jeans that fashionistas wear with turn ups & high heels

Where are they from? I'm tempted but would like to go and try on first. Also, don't want to spend a fortune. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You can buy them from pretty much any clothes shop but I guess it depends on how much you want to pay. I imagine fashionistas would wear premium denim like J Brand, Rag + Bone, Current Elliott.

Get a cheap pair from asos

southeastastra · 06/01/2015 08:01

just buy some bog standard straight leg, some boyfriend jeans have sewn in turn ups which is just odd

mowglik · 06/01/2015 09:45

I have some lovely soft ones from mint velvet really comfy to wear I'd get the next size up. Also have some from Levi's with the turn-ups sewn in which are also nice but not as soft or comfy as the MV ones

hellsbellsmelons · 06/01/2015 10:09

I got mine from NEXT

zinnia · 06/01/2015 10:29

I've tried the Mint Velvet Denver boyfriend jeans too and they are lovely, also heard very good things about the Hush and Jigsaw versions. Gap "sexy boyfriend" (what makes them "sexy" I'm not sure) are now in the sale at a reasonable £35 according to their website. Iirc these don't have sewn-in turn-ups.

Btw mint velvet ones £29 in sale atm, I have the grey ones and the darker coloured denim ones

YoullLikeItNotaLot · 06/01/2015 11:58

Asos but I'm not sure the look works for me (short sturdy legs).

Will try again...

YoullLikeItNotaLot · 06/01/2015 12:01

Oh and the ones I got from asos fit really well when I tried them on & for about 15 minutes after each wash but go really baggy very quickly (waist, bum, legs. Any tips or should I have sized down despite them seemingly being a perfect fit when I tried them on?

toastandmarmiterocks · 06/01/2015 19:42

Thank you, the Mint Velvet only seem to have the grey in the sale. I'm pretty skint and they will probably look hideous on me so I don't want to spend much. I'm off to scour ASOS and maybe see if any of my existing jeans could convert...

seems rude not to in the dark blue.

I agree! Uniqlo are very generous with their sizing, so you might want to try a couple of pairs!

ZammoMcGuire · 06/01/2015 20:49

they look terrible, I think

toastandmarmiterocks · 06/01/2015 20:49

I whipped out my tape measure and went by their size guide. I'll be really annoyed if their sizes don't match up. We'll see...

I'm not keen on the ripped bits Zammo and there is no way I'd have paid £70!! But a tenner...

mowglik · 06/01/2015 22:32

I like them.
And the ripped bits aren't actually ripped so no bare flesh moments.. Will look great with some nice knits Grin

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 06/01/2015 22:45

I love uniqlo jeans and have a great boyfriend pair from there. Size down 1-2 inches on the waist though.

frankietwospots · 06/01/2015 22:52

Let us know how you get on with the Uniqlo jeans - what a good price!

MsBojangles · 06/01/2015 23:31

Asos Rio are decent.

Mominatrix · 07/01/2015 11:18

Current/Elliot. Brilliant boyfriend jeans in a range of washes, and amazingly comfortable.

Joey8 · 07/01/2015 16:49

I recently got a good pair of 'boyfriend' jeans from River Island sooo comfy - they are high waisted ones. A little bit baggy so obviously if you are looking for something a tad closer fitting then maybe these aren't best but very ideal for just those casual round the house / errand days! Practically live in mine already. And I just turn the bottoms up for the up turned look.

noddyholder · 07/01/2015 16:51

I really like them with heels its an easy evening look or lunch out /pub etc without being too dressed up.

noddyholder · 07/01/2015 16:53

YoullLikeItNotaLot · 07/01/2015 17:38

Yep noddy that's what I look like in mine Wink
