ASOS - any experiences?

Okay I'm panicking slightly. It's ds2's christening on Sunday and after a disastrous shopping trip last week in which I could find nothing to wear in the shops I ordered a dress from ASOS. Never used them before but in my relief in finding something vaguely suitable to wear (and that I would feasibly wear again) I stupidly opted for standard delivery.

It's due by Friday but it's still showing order processing rather than dispatched. I was going to order it again but express delivery (and return one) but of course now it's sold out and sold out elsewhere. I'm becoming slightly obsessed with checking the website.

So wise mn are ASOS usually reliable? Should I start going in to full panic mode???? I'm not even thinking about the fact it might not fit or look awful (head in sand)

I am having a nightmare with ASOS at the moment. Placed an order on Monday, renewed my Premier membership at the same time. Order should have arrived Tuesday. Still no sign of it.

Facebook and Twitter are FULL of complaints at the moment and it seems they are ignoring everyone. I finally got a message saying it would arrive next Weds 17th. That's disgraceful. I have filed a PayPal charge back for a refund on the whole order now, including premier membership. Their whole attitude stinks - not an apology, acknowledgement - nothing.

That's it for me and Asos now. It's not the first time it's happened. Customer service is terrible and not being able to speak to someone is frustrating beyond belief.

I'm glad you got your delivery though, OP!

Aaaahghhhh my whole order has been cancelled without even as much as a heartfelt apology! Damn you asos! Angry

UPDATE

So the backup dress did not fit at all and it was nearly panic stations but the original dress I ordered has literally just turned up half an hour ago (so a day late) and fits perfectly. The relief is immense :)

Bit to close for comfort!

You know normally I'm not really the kind of person who stresses particularly about clothes but I'd got it in my head that I want to look as certain way tomorrow and whilst it wouldn't have ruined the day I'm so pleased!

Bloody asos have just sent me a thing saying 20% off everything and I totally want to buy stuff but it's just not going to get here before I go on holiday next Fri is it?!

I've just received an ASOS brand dress (as others have said, delivery time appalling) which is the first ASOS thing I have ever bought. I'm actually pretty impressed! It is a lovely black and white knee length dress, kind of a kimono top. It looks surprisingly nice, for days when you want to look nice but not trussed up iykwim, and only £45. I hope it washes OK. Might well be tempted to buy other dresses in the sale.

One question for regular shoppers of ASOS brand clothes though. As it's so popular, do you tend to run into a lot if other people wearing the same clothes? That would definitely bother me, and is one of the reasons I tend to usually shop at Cos/& Other Stories which seem like a bit of a well kept secret.
