Down-filled coats aplenty everywhere, but need knee-length!

I have been looking and looking for a down-filled hooded coat, which are seemingly everywhere, but nowhere seems to have a knee-length one. I wear a lot of tunic-dresses, and with shorter coats they always poke out the bottom and look rubbish! What does everyone else do about this problem? I like the Aigle Cuckmere but am pretty sure it will reach mid-thigh (although they never state the length so it is impossible to be sure!).

I thought it was worth a try to ask on here and see if anyone knew of one. Need black or dark blue, and not too puffa-ish. I am 5"11' so only really proper knee-length will do. I have looked at the

Lands End

PeppermintInfusion · 03/12/2014 17:02

Joules have some knee length ones in.

mrsrhodgilbert · 03/12/2014 17:08

I'm also 5"5 and my Aigle is knee length so it would be shorter on you, but maybe not too short. It is lovely to have warm legs. It came out for the first time today.

Smurfingreat · 03/12/2014 17:14

Jack Wolfskin Chrystal Iceguard. I'm 5'10 and have this one and it's knee length on me, really flattering and toasty warm.

Cranagh · 03/12/2014 17:45

I'm 5'9 and the Aigle Cuckmere is a few inches above the knee on me. Still toasty, fab coat, I love mine.

hollyisalovelyname · 03/12/2014 19:09

Dotty your Joules link not working fir me. What are the coats called please?

beanandspud · 03/12/2014 20:27

I have a Landsend knee-length down coat with a hood. Would definitely recommend it.

Arlagirl · 03/12/2014 20:29

Try Berghaus. I'm six feet and bought a lovely knee length one from there

dottytablecloth · 03/12/2014 20:30

Oops! It's the Joules Langridge coat

trying link again!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/12/2014 20:30

I got one from Decathlon a couple of years ago. Apart from the zip sometimes jamming shut when it's done up I really love it.

FreeButtonBee · 03/12/2014 20:31

Another vote for the aigle I am a short arse and it is v close to my knees. Toasty warm inside and fleece lined pockets for your hands.

WildBillfemale · 04/12/2014 07:19

You lot have just made me £127 poorer. Just gone and ordered the Lands End one!

NoelleHawthorne · 04/12/2014 07:22

lands end is HUGE if you get one

I had one and its not as good ( or $$$) as my north face one which always garners comps

NoelleHawthorne · 04/12/2014 07:23

i dont like a belt so the Aigle is a bit fussy for me

this is mine but half the price

Thank you Dotty.
The link worked.

CookieTramp · 04/12/2014 11:29

Bonhomme, would you mind having a quick measure from shoulder to hem for me? My mum says larger sizes are not longer, just wider, so my size 16 would be the same length as your size 10. I need 99cm minimum and just can't find a length listed anywhere. Pretty please?

CookieTramp · 04/12/2014 11:40

NoelleHawthorne, your one is my favourite after the Aigle, although the most expensive! Would you also mind having a cheeky measure for me? Costs so much and nowhere deigns to reveal the length, which is crucial for me!

Lands End have some and Centigrade via QVC also do long down coats.

tethersend · 04/12/2014 15:24

Benetton

bonhomme · 04/12/2014 18:11

94 cm / 37 inches approx

MincePieDiet · 04/12/2014 18:27

I also have the cuckmere it is knee length (5'6) and fabulous. What colour are you looking at? Have seen some bargain (relatively) ones for 199 as it has been replaced this year by the cuckmerry which has a weird trench style square belt buckle which leaves the end of the belt flapping around. What area do you live in as think I researched every uk stockist before purchasing mine! It is likely you could go and try one on first in any colour to know your size. They are quite roomy.

GingerbreadBaubles · 05/12/2014 03:18

M&S have some, mine is in its 4th year perfect length and really warm.

NoelleHawthorne · 05/12/2014 05:52

Make sure it's down now polyester

What am I measuring?

andadietcoke · 05/12/2014 06:06

I have The North Face Arctic Parka and adore it. It's like wearing a duvet but not actually too bulky. Bought last year when I was pushing a buggy round in all weather and it was perfect.

WildBillfemale · 05/12/2014 06:59

FWIW The lands end ones aren't down, They are called 'Down' but then claim to be 100% Polyester.
