How to get big, scruffy waves

I'm contemplating cutting my currently boob length hair to shoulder length, but I want it to look something like these

My hair is thick and naturally straight although I do straighten it because it looks a mess otherwise.

I'm a bit crap with doing anything other than straightening my hair or putting it up in a ponytail!

Does anyone have any tips for how to get waves like in the images, and how to keep them? TIA!

I'm booked in for Thursday afternoon so here's hoping I can recreate the pinterest pics! Will try random sections too thanks Never

Quite excited to have something different done for once Grin

Love my new hair!

I've been told I need a shit load of mousse (a blob the size of my left boob), an amount of hair spray potentially hazardous to health and a fair bit of patience as my hair is quite heavy, particularly at the back.

Love it this morning though! Grin

Hahaha!

I was sceptical about trying mousse after trying it as a teen but it makes such a difference doesn't it!

So glad you love your hair!

Ditto - I haven't used mousse for a VERY long time. Definitely works though! Who knew? Grin
