I've fallen in love with these boots. I've found an alternative pair in Dune, but they are more orange than brown.

I really want brown, slouchy, mid calf, low heel boots and these are perfect... I am going to have to get them aren't I?

They look like 1980's nightmares to me. To be worn with ski pants for optimum style points.

Tbh, I'm sure you can get something much cheaper in the same or a v v v similar style for much less if £215 is pushing it for you.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 19/11/2014 15:12

(Not that I mean I regularly chuck £200+ at footwear)

MirandaWest · 19/11/2014 15:15

How much do you usually spend on a pair of boots (this would make a difference to my answer)

Riverland · 19/11/2014 15:15

Oh gosh! Time warp moment on opening that link! 80's or late 70's, was it?

sheeplikessleep · 19/11/2014 15:23

Trust mumsnet not to be backward in giving true opinions ;)

I'm struggling in all honesty - I'm only 5ft1, so the full length ones go up to my knee and I'm not keen on the ankle boots. Everything else seems very chunky or really high heeled.

I want to wear them with skinnies. I can't find any others that I'm particularly drawn to.

(Still laughing ... Maybe i am stuck in a time warp)

Either that or I'm actually ahead of the fashion curveball (not)

There's something piratey about them. Ahoy, matey!
Or maybe it's more elf-like. An 80's elf. You just need some leggings with floral pattern and maybe a fluffy pastel-coloured top.

If you really like them and think that they're worth £215, then get them.

sheeplikessleep · 19/11/2014 15:25

Up to £100, preferably closer to £80 mark

Riverland · 19/11/2014 15:26

Honestly, if you have the dosh and you like them, go for it! I bet they're gorgeous quality.

I also don't care for chunky nor high heeled, I sympathise.

AmeliaPeabody · 19/11/2014 15:27

They do look like a 1980s nightmare.

I think they're great!

WerewolfBarMitzvah · 19/11/2014 15:28

My barbie had a pair like those.
I love the colour of the leather.

sheeplikessleep · 19/11/2014 15:29

(I just laughed out loud at your positivity towards my apparently obvious fashion faux par).

OP posts:
AmeliaPeabody · 19/11/2014 15:29

And yes, I would buy them.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 19/11/2014 15:30

Don't listen to me. I don't really 'do' fashion, so these could be the latest thing as far as I know.

Have you looked in next? I'm sat outside school so haven't got time to look at the moment but I find next usually have versions of dune boots for half the price.

Or search on eBay for slouchy boots.

They're really fugly and look far more market stall price point then R&B.

sheeplikessleep · 19/11/2014 15:34

Ok ok, so I am picking my dishevelled self from the floor ... What else is there that fits my list ...

Brown
Mid calf
Not chunky
Not high heeled

Thankyou for making me giggle. I couldn't really justify £200 on a pair of boots anyway. But I want something to go out for dinner, shopping, pub etc that is a bit dressier, but not heely?

AmeliaPeabody · 19/11/2014 15:35

My trendy cousin, in the 80s used to wear her boots (like those) with slim fit jeans or an ankle length skirt and baggy blouse and wide belt.

I bet I'm putting OP off now Grin

I want some now, but I'd rather they were nearer the £100-150 mark.

Riverland · 19/11/2014 15:36

Gabor have dark chocolate flat suede mid calf slouchy boots for about £80. Sw them on Amazon. Can't do links at the moment.

VoyagesOfAStarship · 19/11/2014 15:37
