First up an apology, DD2 has been a nightmare for 4 months so I have lurked but not posted in ages. I'm barely hanging in there with tiredness. The joys of the non-sleeper...

I have a challenge for next week. I'm off to a gig in London with some youngsters (all child free), I've got backstage passes and nothing but Uniqlo jumpers and jeans to fit at the moment.

What the heck do you were to a gig these days? My friends were all at the EMAs I'm Glasgow so you appreciate my dilemma Smile

Quick question as we are still ill. DD2 is now under the care of the local hospital, seeing Dr again in an hour.

Question - I have a stack of Uniqlo extra fine merino jumpers, how should I wash them? Anyone washed one or similar yet? Thanks x

Also, thank you for your messages and thoughts. Solo parenting for the rest of this week and no family near. It's much appreciated xxxx

Noelle are you buying that asos dress? If you are can you report back as I love it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2014 17:35

Pink - hope you all feel better soon.

The Oasis dress is nice enough, but am a bit bored of the Anglomania shape, especially as a few of my work dresses are that shape too. I really do think I fancy red, or a black 60s-esque thing, maybe. :)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 20/11/2014 19:13

pinkpear - sounds like a terribly gruelling week, esp if your DD is now seeing a hospital. Fist bump for you. My Uniqlo cashmere and merino all goes in the wash w Woollite on a cold delicate machine wash.

Butwhere - yes, I do, but every work place is different, and ditto your personal style / how you feel comfortable dressing, aren't they?! If you feel they are a bit flashy, they might be more wearable for you w trousers, especially dark grey trousers. Delighted you bought the green skirt, so did a couple of my friends - do you like it? I hope so. A friend wore the Cos dress when I saw her recently and I really loved it on her. Another friend said she thinks it's itchy, though. But she is still thinking about it. The print is that perfect sort that makes an impact, but isn't loud, and has lots of great colours so you can wear it with everything. Obv I'm a fan of it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2014 19:33

Opinions? Have I gone mad?

NoelleHawthorne · 20/11/2014 19:47

No i think a colleague is

NoelleHawthorne · 20/11/2014 19:48

I dunno - I layer with a denim shirt.
You could always bung a heattech top on underneath

NoelleHawthorne · 20/11/2014 19:53

ooh i have SHOE NEWS

I got the Dune mid heels. In black snake and they are SO COMFY

www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Dune+Alina+pointed+toe+reptile+print+mid+heel/D502938,default,pd.html
way comfier than you would think

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 20/11/2014 20:12

Remus, mmmm, I'm really not sold on the dress.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 20/11/2014 20:14

Nice shoes, Noelle, I find Dune v comfy. The most comfy for me are M&S but they aren't exactly hitting it out of the park this season w their shoes. There are only about 2 that I like. Bags, great. Shoes, where are they?!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2014 20:15

Think I'll try to see it irl, B. The colour (I think) would work on me, and so would the shape.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2014 20:17

My M&S Autograph heels are the comfiest ones I have ever owned. Dune sizing doesn't work for me - 4 too big and 3 too small. A pain, as I like lots of their stuff.

NoelleHawthorne · 20/11/2014 20:18

i dont like the copper dress

NoelleHawthorne · 20/11/2014 20:18

agree marks shoes are bad this season.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2014 20:20

I didn't think anybody would like it tbh, but I am going to try it on anyway! It's the sort of thing that nobody else buys, and that appeals to me. :)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 20/11/2014 21:08

Yes, it's nice to have something a bit unique, I agree,Remus.

Right, I'm off to finish turning my suggestions on this thread into a blog post. Plus I found some more party stuff. Why can't I go to more parties?! I have the wardrobe wishlist, just not the lifestyle.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 21/11/2014 21:51

I tried the green silk & Other Stories dress on today in size 36. Love. I think the sleeves could do with being shorter, though. Luckily, I'm good at folding / gluing etc.

I think the sleeves are fine on you Belinda. Although I do know what you mean tho. There's a length of sleeve that's just wrong on me.
Well. I've just come home from being out. In my Zara pleather dress. Here. Great going out dress. Good ole Zara, it's great at times. Ears buzzing from music. (Old). Too much alcohol. Good golly miss Molly. I will be sorry in the AM.

RonaldMcDonald · 22/11/2014 13:11

The Zara dress is lovely
I was worried about my chestage but actually it is great and much more lovely in rl than photographed

That green dress reminds me of a Laura Ashley dress I adored in about 1987.

SofaCanary · 22/11/2014 17:41

It reminds me of all my childhood Christmas dresses Grin

Littlepinkpear · 22/11/2014 20:18

I love that dress Belinda! I pinned it a few weeks ago when I saw it online.

You look amazing in it.

I went to BR today and I was too hot to be arsed trying anything on.
they have moved jewllery upstairs which is annoying and there was too much xmas stuff ( glittery tops etc) and pale grey and pink

Went over to Jcrew - was still too hot and bothered but did see the Tippi in a dark red - anyone got a code any more?
