First up an apology, DD2 has been a nightmare for 4 months so I have lurked but not posted in ages. I'm barely hanging in there with tiredness. The joys of the non-sleeper...

I have a challenge for next week. I'm off to a gig in London with some youngsters (all child free), I've got backstage passes and nothing but Uniqlo jumpers and jeans to fit at the moment.

What the heck do you were to a gig these days? My friends were all at the EMAs I'm Glasgow so you appreciate my dilemma Smile

The Zara sequin dress isn't that spangly in real life.

BTW TopShop have a gorgeous matte sequin and velvet jacket in black

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2014 20:36

I like the Oasis one but have several v similar. Blue will be lovely on you, B, but I hate it on me.

Littlepinkpear · 18/11/2014 20:36

No Boden swirly print tunics Remus leave them for my mum. I currently have £578 in my Boden basket. I have yet to hit go.

I have never really kept anything I order apart from kids clothes and cardis. I have the bistro crops, two plain dresses for going back to work and the off duty jumper in two colours in the basket.

I am far too in love with the Fashion Mum 40 blog, hence the jumper as she looks amazing in everything. I just want to buy her entire wardrobe!

Next seasons Boden shoes look lovely as well.

I might check out the blingy one irl.

Littlepinkpear · 18/11/2014 20:41

Zara blue lace is gorgeous - is it ok quality wise? Zara is so hit and miss.

If I didn't hate the online customer service I would order more from &otherstories. I save my shopping for trips to London now. The green silk dress you blogged from there looked like it would be a great investment.

I haven't tried the blue Zara dress, but loved how it looked on the hanger. It's like the blue lace is edged w a slightly darker blue, which really "lifted" it from looking like an ordinary lace dress.

I haven't had problems w & Other Stories, lately, but their website wouldn't accept my order during the last big sale. Was VERY annoyed.

NoelleHawthorne · 18/11/2014 21:23

Ooh I had a zara moment. Sent a skirt back out of time in with something else.

They phoned and said Id have to pick up from store. Then called a few days later saying they'd refund after all.

NoelleHawthorne · 18/11/2014 21:24

Wet pencils unless I have a long jumper my "waist"is do short I look a bit like les Dawson. Room to hot yp wear knits

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/11/2014 09:18

Cotton knits, Noelle? Out of season, but that could be an option if wool knits are too hot.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/11/2014 09:19

That navy sequin kimono dress is v pretty. I'd feel good in that.

lurkingaround · 19/11/2014 11:34

Hola mes amigas!
Vague dropper-inner here. How are you all? Very slim pickings from me on the clothing front, house plans ongoing and hoovering, hoovering up funds.

Sympathies Littlepink, sleep deprivation is utter hell. We've had our own sleep hell, (for health reasons with youngest, story for another day), and it was absolute torture. Torture. We are out the other side now thank goodness.

I tried on Belinda's blue lace dress 5 or 6 weeks ago, and thought it lovely on. I really really wanted to buy, but couldn't think of where I would wear the dress. Tell me where. No. Don't Good length, mostly cotton iirc, lovely. Comes up big. I think Zara have changed their sizing, seems bigger these days. I may have bought your Office suede shoes here tho. They are so incredibly comfortable, and the heel height is perfecto.

Tell me. Which Primark skinnies do you all have? Was there yesterday and there was a dizzying array of skinnies. Left without any.

Littlepinkpear · 19/11/2014 11:45

Hola lurking! Thank you. I'm going through biscuits like you wouldn't believe.

Mine just say skinny inside. That's of no use what so ever is it? They were £12 I think and are very stretchy and have stayed nice and black.

OP posts:
lurkingaround · 19/11/2014 15:32

Oh yes, I remember living on the sugar buzz! And I always loved coffee, but really only became properly addicted during my sleep deprived haze.

I think Primark must have been out of those skinnies. There were none at that price yesterday. Well there were, but they weren't plain skinneroos, they had a slightly fancy tie-dye thing going on, and extra bits of fabric and 'things'.

RonaldMcDonald · 19/11/2014 15:46

Have purchased the zara dress

Stokey · 19/11/2014 16:16

How nice to see workwear women back. I'm definitely going to try those H&M leather leggings.

I've recently tried Gap coated jeans - nice but too baggy round the knees for me, French Connection leggings - great but £75 and Mint Velvet which were half leather, half cloth, but £40.

Sympathies pinkpear DD2 only started sleeping through aged 2.2, though she would go 8-5, then settle again once given milk.

I'm looking for some chunky knits to wear with them as freeze in just shirts. I am small with big boobs, so struggle with polonecks. Anyone seen anything that is properly warm?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/11/2014 18:06

I am also small with big boobs but have just bought a v cheapo M&S poloneck and have been virtually living in it at the weekends. Size up one. Here

ASOS dress isn't doing much for me, sorry, as I think it's got too much bulk on top - and I like real shops. :)

I don't like pleather but do like coated skinnies. My latest ones are from Jack Wills.

NoelleHawthorne · 19/11/2014 22:02

i get teh £7 ones but they have reformulated the fabric, it says and they are now too tight in my normal size

NoelleHawthorne · 19/11/2014 22:03

Stokey - the Boden Westbourne jumper is perfect - size down

NoelleHawthorne · 19/11/2014 22:04

any dress with a waist is no good, ( ie the lace one) as i have no waist

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/11/2014 22:13

Stokey - do you like the Gap cashmere round neck knits? They are thick cashmere, but you need to size up. I don't get on with Gap jeans, and I have coated jeans, but also like pleather. Was going to get leather, but like the cut of the H&M pleather bikers a lot, so will think about leather next year. Esp as not sure how to wash leather, and fear them stretching out of shape. Blah blah - try H&M...

PinkPear - DD2 was vomiting last night. It's grim being so tired, I'd forgotten. Hope you are all on the mend now.

Ronald - hope the Zara dress works out for you.

Noelle - I have less of a waist than I used to. Does ruching work for you? The Whistles dress that I blogged, Bella, has artful ruching that gave me a narrower looking waist than I actually have.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/11/2014 22:16

This dress looks good, too. The fabric might be thin enough for you to forgive the extra volume, Remus? www.oasis-stores.com/lurex-drape-dress/partywear/oasis/fcp-product/3170148656

Butwhereto · 20/11/2014 07:55

The Oasis dress is a bit Anglomania, Remus particularly in the lurex.

Belinda, I tried the silver Boden heels. Really comfy and a total dupe for the Jimmy Choo but do you really think they are workish outside off the run up to Christmas. The silver is rather foil rather than matt fyswim.

I also saw but didn't get to try on the Cos wool printed dress. I hate prints generally but loved the look of it. Finally I may have also bought the green pencil skirt off a recent post as I already owned the rest of the outfit. I am wearing it to a smart casual work event today in Paris...am hoping the French will approve.

Littlepinkpear - bad luck on the sleeping and the missed evening. I have every sympathy on both.Relentless lack of sleep is really crushing.

Thanks for the jumper advice - off to westfield to check out Gap & M&S this afternoon.

I love the blue of the Boden one Noelle but is it warm? It seems to be mainly cotton and viscose.
