Am I veering into "Nana bootees" territory with these boots?

Ignore the fact that they're from Cotton Traders Wink, are these boots really old lady? I quite like the way they look with the leggings and thick socks, but I'd probably wear them under straight leg jeans (don't like skinnies on me) as a sort of desert boot.

If you do think they're not totally shocking, then which colour do you think is best? Apologies for the photos taken of a magazine page, I could find them on the website and link if better.

ClaudiaNaughton have you got your graphite ones yet?

I think if they're fur lined with zips on then it's only a matter of time...

I think looking at your photo SomeSunnySunday mine will be going straight back for an exchange to. That is a completely different colour

MargotLovedTom · 16/11/2014 09:30

The zips don't bother me in the slightest.

Graphite ones arrived. They are very dark grey, like a slightly faded black. Very comfortable and will definitely keep them.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/11/2014 20:13

I've ordered a pair in Midnight - not sure if that is black or dark navy, but it doesn't really matter at that price. And hopefully they will be too Nana-ish for my DD1 to take, as she has taken my DMs, two pairs of ankle boots, a pair of Camper shoes and a pair of court shoes so far... Oh, and a pair of Uggs.

MargotLovedTom · 16/11/2014 21:02

Claudia thank you for getting back.
MrsSchadenfreude did you pay 45 for the midnight or does the code work with those ones as well and you got them for 25?

OP posts:
MargotLovedTom · 16/11/2014 21:02

And reclaim your footwear Wink.

Sorry, have just noticed that the midnight were on the original advert. Ignore me.

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 16/11/2014 21:09

I got them for £25, Margot. Smile

MargotLovedTom · 16/11/2014 21:18

Great Smile I've ordered mink and graphite, MIL buying me one of the pairs for Christmas.

Mine have arrived in the wine colour and I actually love them! They look lovely in rl. So comfy too Smile

MargotLovedTom · 17/11/2014 23:53

Good to hear. Someone had put a review on the website saying the wine was more like brick red but they're happy with them. I'm looking forward to getting my mink and graphite ones Smile.

Oooh, so comfy and cosy! DD1 (who has nicked anything that goes on my feet that is remotely stylish) said, quite kindly "They're not quite Nana boots, more like Mum boots." Does she want to borrow them? No. Result. Grin

MargotLovedTom · 18/11/2014 20:53

Result! Are they navy then? Am still waiting for mine.

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 18/11/2014 21:13

No! I think they're black. Or a navy that is so dark it looks black.

MargotLovedTom · 19/11/2014 09:57

My order is still saying 'processing' and I ordered on Sunday Sad. Looking back ClaudiaNaughton placed her order on Thursday and they were dispatched same day. I wonder if they're having a run on Nana boots!

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2014 21:56

I ordered mine on Sunday and they arrived yesterday.

You started the run on Nana boots, Margot, and now there are none left for you!

MargotLovedTom · 19/11/2014 22:47

They have been dispatched! Mind you it's Hermes couriers and I've always found them to be spectacularly crap, so I won't believe it until I've actually got them on my feet Wink. I hope everyone else has been floating around with comfy feet today.

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 21/11/2014 22:18

Oh yes, Hermes... they left mine with a "neighbour" - a woman who lived six doors away and whom I had never clapped eyes on before.

MargotLovedTom · 22/11/2014 10:30

MrsSchadenfreude sounds familiar. I had the Christmas shopping from hell one year when they were dealing with my Toys R Us delivery.

Anyway the boots came and.......I don't like them Sad. They are very long and narrow with an almond shape toe which is not what I was expecting. They make my feet look about twice the length they normally are, but I think the next size down would be too tight and I can't be bothered with the faff of exchanging. The soles also seem very stiff, as if they would split on use rather than flexing. Disappointed.

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 22/11/2014 10:45

They are definitely Nana boots - have you looked at the ages of the reviewers?!

I find them comfy, if not overly stylish.

MargotLovedTom · 22/11/2014 10:57

Well, I'm pleased someone else got something out of it Grin. I've seen some nice boots in Next, so onwards and upwards.
