Faux fur coat - a very bad idea?

I love the fur coat with skinnies, sweatshirt, bobble hat and Converse look which I've seen around and discussed on here. I wear all of those apart from the coat anyway so it seems like a no brainer but just not sure I can pull it off.

I am 41, short and a size 12-14 hourglass. I've got messy cropped hair and suit quite a casual/edgy look (in my head). This look feels very me but am I kidding myself and will actually look like a bad case of mutton mum?

I've recently started a new job working with quite a few people younger than me and I am desperate not to be seen as the frumpy older one but equally don't want to appear too try hard.

I have been looking at that one actually, love the idea of one with a hood. Had a look in store today but they didn't have it.

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure the reason I don't suit these is as much about my height as anything. I have tendency to look like a kid in adults' clothes (despite not looking especially young) and this style seems to make that worse. I just can't do grown up .

I am tall-ish and size 10, and no-one has ever accused me of looking like a child (not for about 25 years, anyway).

Nobody has said it to me either it's just how I feel - I am much more a kids coat with ears type of person than a cool and trendy fashion coat wearer!
