Thinking about splashing out on one for my Christmas and birthday, are they as lovely as they look?! I know they are very expensive but are they worth it? It is it just a splurge too far?!

They're so very widely faked that I think they've rather lost some of their cachet.

Yes. Love mine.

@callamia that's so funny! I bought mine after I sold my engagement ring after my partner fucked somebody else! I love mine, it makes me way happier than the ring ever did. I take care of it - a wee leather care polish and waterproof spray now and again. I have the Anthony which is an across the body messenger so it's easy to use even if I've lots of little hands to hold. I'd coveted (I know, very shallow) one for years and feel if it's something you really want it doesn't matter what others say. I've a friend who thinks I'm mad for having paid all that money saying she'd have done different things with it but that wouldn't have been right for me. If you want it, get it.

No is absolutely, not. One, the first black mulberry tote colored my light fur coat then company changed it to another black which after two years did the same with my light gray coat. I wrote and send pictures to company they answered me that I do not need to use the bag in rainy weather. I am sorry to say, but here is raining almost every second day. If I can't use the bag with light cloth only with black then the price is too expensive. I sold it som used and never again bay mulberry bags. There is other brands which has higher quality and better price. My latest discover is Carlo Salvatelli, highly recommended!!

My DD bought a Bayswater 3 years ago. She uses it regularly, loves it and it is still going strong, but I don't think it was worth the money. It's not lined (I love a nice coloured lining in a bag) and does not seem very well made.

See what they have in stock at Bicester Village. At least they are a bit cheaper there. No dark coloured leather is guaranteed colour fast. I have a navy suede Alexa. I liked it when I bought it (half price) but Mulberry has had it's day. You see very few new ones about after they became to ludicrously expensive. My bamboo Gucci was not much more and that is a proper handbag!

Bought my first one double zip bayswater in TAN , because I love the colour. Used it first week, rained, got rain marks on it. Called mulberry. They said they do not protect their bags before selling and they would do nothing about my bag. I went to the Handbag Clinic. After six weeks, they are still trying to get rid if the water marks. They said they will have to make the bag a darker colour. I paid over £1250 to buy the bag and it is costing £150 to repair the rain damage. Mulberry was arrogant and dismissive to my problem. Will never buy mulberry again. Read in the newspaper that all the new styles are diffusing the once iconic look mulberry had. Aldo, the New lock they are using to replace the postman lock, looks like a vagina, to be perfectly blunt but honest.

Zombie thread!

Allmypets11 · 05/09/2017 09:36

Mulberry does not keep it's value. You should look into a real designer bag like Gucci etc. I have mulberry and would not buy it again. The H.O. is very unhelpful if you have a problem.

This thread is 3 years old. I'm sure the poster has moved on!

endehors · 05/09/2017 09:52

No. I wouldn't buy another, the quality is far removed from what it was, in my opinion.

I've seen posts here, too, in recent years, asking where to get bits and pieces mended.

abigailgabble · 05/09/2017 10:38

only if you want to replicate the standard 'uniform'. there's nothing special about mulberry any more it's ubiquitous with the john lewis class. dull.

abigailgabble · 05/09/2017 10:40

i do have a roxanne in lavender from years ago but i doubt i would use it any more, even in that lovely unusual colour, am keeping it only for sentimentality. my tastes have moved on i find mulberry too generic.
