I don't get the Kardashian thing; I think she looks a mess this outfit is particularly dreadful. Makes her look massive. And it needs ironed. Why is she an icon?!!?

I cannot understand how anyone can suggest KK's figure could in any way be a positive role model for young girls - she has fake breasts & bum.

At Kate Moss hasn't had to have invasive surgery to achieve her figure. In fact, it is perfectly healthy and normal for many of us to be slim, so I have never understood why Kate Moss gets such a hard time on Mumsnet.

Plus, I think Kate Moss is stylish but KK has terrible dress sense. It all seems to me aimed at being in your face 'sexy' as all times, which for me has the opposite effect.

I also don't think her bum is fake but I can't be sure on that one. I know that my arse has changed quite dramatically since 2006. And also the photo offered as evidence is quite obviously photoshopped. There are loads of photos on google of her from 2006 which show her with a big bum. She has gained weight since then (still tiny though) and clearly works out all the time. I hate the step machine at the gym but made myself use it for about 6 months and my arse became very noticeably more round and large. It's entirely possible to change the size and shape of your body parts without surgery.

Those boobs look pretty fake to me in those photos. Either way, she looks grim in that dress, not a flattering look for anyone.

I thought Kanye always dressed Kim? He once tweeted that he had to dress her everyday so that she didn't embarrass him. It's very kind of him to help her like that because he is very stylish.

She does not have, nor has she ever had, enough fat on her tummy to build a bottom that big.

She is large of rump, lots of us are. I have always had that kind of figure, but amazingly, my bum has got bigger over the years and certainly since I had children.

I don't know much about the Kardashians/Wests, Ive never watched the reality shows, I don't really care either way, but the venom directed at KK is horrible. Yes she courts publicity, that is what people in the public eye do, but that is not an excuse for people to be so vile about her.

Leviticus you're so right. People who make a living being talked about know they have to do controversial things and have to get criticism. If everyone was ultra polite and complimentary the conversation, and their career, would be over fast. Which would be fine by me if I were her - I'd take the money and run.

Bloody hell no, it's the new aesthetic. Ten years ago women wanted rid of their arses and now everyone wants a round sticky out one (with boobs and a teeny waist). It's being sold to us as a more natural 'real' look and it just isn't.

I agree that it has become much more desired, thanks to JLo and Beyonces popularity, but it still gets derision, as you can easily see from this thread and any online source with a comments section.

The arse x-rays were years ago, when KK's arse was very different to the one she has today. Anything could have happened in the intervening period.

Except that KW does seem to exert a lot of control over her image. He (and his stylist) threw out most of KKs wardrobe, which is when she started appearing in clothes that do nothing for her curvy body shape. I've no idea what his current stance on plastic surgery is, but some years ago he paid for his DM to have some cosmetic procedures and she later died :(.

Not sure why KW thinks he has better taste than KK in clothes because he usually looks like a dogs dinner.
