I'm having a total nightmare trying to find the following:

A shrug/bolero/cardigan.

Necklace.

Bag.

Have possible shoes - but boring black :(

I'm not sure what colours to put with it. I can't even find a dress I really truly like. This is the front runner www.lollypopvintage.co.uk/vintageweddingdresses/prod_3391245-Vintage-style-Teal-bird-print-50s-tea-dress.html

I'm pear shaped, wanting a totally non traditional dress, as it's just us on the day, no guests. I'd like to be able to wear whatever I buy for the rest of the day, without looking daft wandering about.

I'm a 12-14 (12 on top, 14 on the bottom) and like 50's style dresses.

eBay fur shrug

another grey fur shrug if you have time to order!

I'm guessing you won't be outside for long, so you just need something as a cover I'm guessing.

Fab dress, are you styling it with the petticoat underneath? It's so pretty.

mycatlikestwiglets · 25/10/2014 10:52

This would look fab and keep you warm!

Grrr! My post just got deleted Angry.

Anyway, I was just saying I really like the grey fur ones and am off to investigate!

Yes, I've got the petticoat to go under. :)

This says it is dark orange. I'm wondering if this might be okay?!

There's really no way of knowing until you see it. I imagine the best way forward now is to order a few different things, try them with the dress and see what works best in terms of look, colour and texture. (Then make some time next week to send the rejects back, obvs!)

I'm not sure about the bag you linked, but I did just take a quick look. If you did go for the grey shrug you could have a silver purse, I'm sure someone linked a cute pewter one from primark on here a few days ago.

I'm definitely no trendsetter but if another voice helps your decision process my instincts were the birds were burnt orange and in theory I like the idea of the grey shrugs / faux fur wraps with silver / pewter / soft grey clutch and shoes.

But its probably best to load up the credit card with a bunch of options to be sent ASAP and try them all on with the dress and you'll know what feels right when you see it in the flesh.

Black doesn't feel right but if you get a good match burnt orange could work but then coordinating shoes / bag could be another nightmare!!!

Also Aliexpress orders take weeks and weeks so I don't think that's the way to go, defo check for UK stockists!

You need the grey fur stole

For bags - something like this. uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_17,acc_1.1/6893598100

Small and glam re the bag.

TSSpectreDNCOntheParanormal · 26/10/2014 13:07

Would something like this Coast one on eBay work?

herecomesthsun · 26/10/2014 13:23

I feel the cold and have been wavering over this. The measurements suggest it goes up to a 43" bust but it is cut away from the waist so not too bulky, and quite in keeping with a vintage dress

citruslemon · 26/10/2014 15:45

A nice scarf/shawl?

MrsLettuce · 28/10/2014 07:51

Did the dress arrive OP?
