I'm having a total nightmare trying to find the following:

A shrug/bolero/cardigan.

Necklace.

Bag.

Have possible shoes - but boring black :(

I'm not sure what colours to put with it. I can't even find a dress I really truly like. This is the front runner www.lollypopvintage.co.uk/vintageweddingdresses/prod_3391245-Vintage-style-Teal-bird-print-50s-tea-dress.html

I'm pear shaped, wanting a totally non traditional dress, as it's just us on the day, no guests. I'd like to be able to wear whatever I buy for the rest of the day, without looking daft wandering about.

I'm a 12-14 (12 on top, 14 on the bottom) and like 50's style dresses.

How about this? Maybe?

MrsLettuce · 24/10/2014 21:14

better? Worse?
way off?

StopHurtingMummyArghhhhh · 24/10/2014 21:54

I think I might have googled the entire market supply of boleros and shrugs! I've seen all those and tried the monsoon one on today! and none of them are right :(

I'm so stressed right now its ridiculous!

A shawl?

StopHurtingMummyArghhhhh · 24/10/2014 22:04

I'm definitely not the type to wear a shawl Grin.

I've got a navy blue long belted mac with cream piping. Maybe I could go like a tramp bride?! Grin

Least it might match a bit!

Do you want a cover up for warmth or arm issues? I'm wondering if a lovely smart coat would work for the walking around part, and just take it off for the ceremony?

tethersend · 24/10/2014 22:13

Cover ups:

ivory

feather

tethersend · 24/10/2014 22:15

teal

tethersend · 24/10/2014 22:19

teal again

Teeb · 24/10/2014 22:22

I realise this is totally left field of what you were asking, but I think it might really work with seeing that dress pop under a oat.

I think sometimes bolero/cover ups can look just like that, a cover up that's thrown over a beautiful dress which can look awkward.

Teeb · 24/10/2014 22:36

continues to ignore the brief more options!

StopHurtingMummyArghhhhh · 24/10/2014 22:59

Hmmm. Just looked at those. Nothing stands out :(

I know I definitely don't want a satin bolero - they don't match the dress. I think the mismatched fabrics would look shocking.

I like the fur one, but I'm not sure... I looked at one today, but it was too expensive, so I put it back Grin.

I don't like any of the coats, although I am not put off at the idea of a coat. As long as it is not high necked. And it is fitted. And not more than £50!

coat?

Teeb · 24/10/2014 23:10

simple cardigan?

MrsLettuce · 24/10/2014 23:19

the styling on this is awful - it looks much better here

MrsLettuce · 24/10/2014 23:31

creamier
and again
tan?!

StopHurtingMummyArghhhhh · 24/10/2014 23:41

Still no! I'm such a nightmare!

Nothing looks right with it! I'm very fucking tempted to just wear my black shrug (already own one!) black shoes and a black bag. Fuck it!

Go to a wedding shop and hire a faux fur stole, I got married in the winter and it kept me lovely and snug.

readyforno2 · 25/10/2014 00:00

No! Don't wear the black!!
What about something like this
www.etsy.com/search?q=&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery&ship_to=GB
Hope the link works am on my phone.
FWIW I have this dress in navy and love it. You will look amazing! Congratulations

readyforno2 · 25/10/2014 00:01

How annoying. It didn't work Confused

readyforno2 · 25/10/2014 00:03

Go with tutt's suggestion, I was trying to link a faux fur stole..

39steppesmum · 25/10/2014 00:12

I love the dress. I did notice from the photos that you need a net undershirt to get that 1950's look. The 3rd picture on the site shows it without and underskirt and it hangs much straighter. I think it needs the net skirt.

They look red to me. But shades of red vary, and so do screens!

39steppesmum · 25/10/2014 00:17

any good?

39steppesmum · 25/10/2014 00:18

monsoon have 2 grey ones and 2 white/cream ones and one red one.
