I think that's cheap, I've a wool jacket I paid about the same price for ten years ago

  • clothes haven't gone up in price in ten years

Clothes are stupidly cheap now compared to other things

Arlagirl · 19/10/2014 08:11

I wouldn't say it was expensive....their tops can be £30-40 so £90 for a jacket isn't too bad.
Think of it as price per wear.
Similar in Mint Velvet are that price.

I find Zara very narrow across back.

Arlagirl · 19/10/2014 08:12

Wtf was that sentence?
Similar to MV in price.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/10/2014 08:21

Oh I think it is lovely and not too bad for a wool jacket. May need to try it on myself.

What was the sizing like?

BettyMoody · 19/10/2014 08:23

i cant stop thinking about it... ohGOD ponty pine
was hovering over one I had last year from marks which was ACE tll I washed it, a biker one, and that is back this year at 60....

oh shit YOU TOO CAMPBERS

I tried a M on and mate said it was ok - you know what Zara top halves are normally like, MIND YOU I only had a thin t shirt affair on, on top.
I would havet o order the L to rule it out

I must say the coats and jackets I have got from Zara have lasted for years. If you factor that it they are worth it.

BettyMoody · 19/10/2014 08:33

I am also coveting these which i think are DEFINITELY mumboots™

But its gone FULL circle now, it seems

Sounds like you had a good day out with your friend. Did you get there ok?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/10/2014 08:49

I prefer a tapered heel on boots. That square block can. Look so clunky.

Still thinking about that jacket. Thought I was being oh so frugal. [weeps at lack of shopping resolve]

Agree w laurie that clothes are v cheap compared to other things. Also, v cheap here compared to in Australia. My wardrobe has doubled AND improved since moving here.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/10/2014 08:51

I really want these boots. I hardly buy shoes from Zara, but these are on my mind and a two min try on convinced me that I can walk in them. www.zara.com/uk/en/shoes---bags/woman/shoes/leather-high-heel-ankle-boots-c665017p2015079.html

Oh thanks for. Asking Dexter, yes it was fine I managed to get a train with only one change rather than two and, guess what? Train was cancelled! So I had to do two changes anyway. Read my book so was cool. Oxford quits a dump isnt it?

Betty, I think I am too stubborn and contrary to wear such a heel, as I just don't fancy them. Although I don't mix w teens thankfully, not sure how my self esteem would fare, and will prob be buying them one day, after everyone else has moved on. Am a lagger, in marketing terms.

Primark bag is v pretty! I love pewter.

And I dream of time on a train w a book. Sounds blissful.

noddyholder · 19/10/2014 09:01

I tried that on!

dexter73 · 19/10/2014 09:48

I hardly ever go to Oxford any more. Newbury or Reading are so much better.

BettyMoody · 19/10/2014 10:14

I don't either blinners but I did notice all the sandals in the summer being clumpier and making the plain toe thong type look middle aged. You try working and living with them! :)

BettyMoody · 19/10/2014 10:15

Primark bag will fit money lipstick card and phone. And strap too.

noddyholder · 19/10/2014 10:19

I think the gap boots not mum boots because of heel ?

Fluffy40 · 19/10/2014 10:27

It's a whole day of overtime working for the nhs ! Weekend rate

NigellasGuest · 19/10/2014 10:37

DD2 looked stunning at her Prom with her dancer's body, lovely face and plain slinky dress with three quarter length sleeves and boat neck. HOWEVER she AND ALL HER FRIENDS ruined their look (IMHO) with ghastly clumpy great clodhopping platformy but at the same time strappy, shoes.
I've wanted to get that off my chest for a long time and feel it is vaguely relevant to this thread
