The best cleanser and moisturiser on a budget?

I need to buy new beauty products (cleanser and moisturiser) without spending a fortune. I use to use Clinique but have just run out. Any recommendations? Smile

Sweet almond oil for cleansing and moringa oil for moisturising! Make sure to get the best quality stuff, cold pressed etc. Honestly my skin has never been so good, would never go back to unnatural products.

If you are near an asda the nspa range is great. I love the night cream, daily scrub and facial oil. If near waitrose the pure range is fab too, I really like the facial oil and the eye gel. the wipes are good for emergencies as well.

I do really like benefit or clarins when budget allows, sometimes its not even budget its getting into town to buy it, so more often than not these days its waitrose or asda, as waitrose is 5 minutes from home and asda is next door to my gym

Cetaphil and/or Cerave. Dermatologists recommend them for a reason.

honeypie10 · 16/10/2014 12:23

Superdrug hot cloth cleanser convert here, only been using it a week and ive got rid of my expensive clarisonic in favour of the £2.99 cleanser.

I also now use nivea day cream in the white pot, both usually £4.99 in superdrug Smile. but the hot cloth cleanser is on offer at the mo for £2.99.

Ive been back to buy 3 bottles already!

PhoebeMcPeePee · 16/10/2014 12:26

Another vote for coconut oil (amazing for eye make-up removal) followed by hot cloth. I've recently swopped to Nivea light moisturising cream (about £2 in supermarket) and it's really lovely.

Bunbaker · 16/10/2014 12:28

Another Superdrug fan. I love the Naturally Radiant range. I find Nivea too rich for my skin.

BornToFolk · 16/10/2014 12:30

Nivea Soft for night. It's surprisingly gentle, and doesn't sting like some more expensive creams

I really like the Aldi Lacura Q10 moisturiser for day. It's 1.49 a tube.

MollyBdenum · 16/10/2014 12:33

I have dry sensitive skin and used to use Dermalogica. I now use the oil cleansing method using avocado oil (and sometimes a bit of Aldi manuka honey) and Aldi moisturiser. The moisturiser isnt quite as good as tge Dermalogica tbh, but the oil is better. Olay Total Effects is a tenner and is as good as the expensive stuff.

fertilityFTW · 16/10/2014 12:37

I've been using a hot flannel with Simple Cleansing Lotion. It's been a revelation and really cheap to boot.
I follow with Olay serum and Simple moisturiser when I can be bothered

BigFairy · 16/10/2014 12:54

I'm using the Superdrug naturally radiant hot cloth cleanser (as on offer at £2.99) and it's a great cheaper alternative to Liz Earle. I'm really impressed with it. Does anyone know of a dupe for the Liz Earle toner? I've got the Superdrug simply pure one but I don't think it's any good. (Simply pure eye make up remover is fine though.) I need to cut my spending!

greenbananas · 16/10/2014 13:14

Nivea moisturiser is great - I have been using it for decades.

For cleanser, I use baby lotion. Works a treat, and is a fraction of the price of ANY other cleanser I have ever seen.

iseenodust · 16/10/2014 13:21

Ponds moisturiser. 5 a pot, find in Boots or Superdrug.

frostyfingers · 16/10/2014 13:38

I use an Olay facial scrub, Boots Toner and an Olay night cream/anti wrinkle cream. Used to use Clinique but didn't feel the cost justified the results, and have been very happy with Olay for years now.

kippersmum · 16/10/2014 14:00

I have been using Nivea in the blue pot for the last 2 weeks as I ran out of my normal moisturiser & have to wait until payday to get some more.

The Nivea is amazing, I won't be going back to my old moisturiser

motherinferior · 16/10/2014 14:12

Cetaphil. Almond oil as a first cleanse if you like (I do). Almond oil is £1 for 50ml in the cheap discount shops.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 16/10/2014 14:14

I like Nivea soft as well in a white tub but prefer the nspa

Madmog · 16/10/2014 14:17

Tescos have some moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin on offer at the moment - 50ml for £1.95. Thought I'd give it a try myself.

McFox · 16/10/2014 14:26

Almond oil as a cleanser - 2 big bottles from holland & Barrett in the penny sake will cost £6 and last you almost a year.

Nivea as moisturiser, £4 for the big tub I think and will last months on end.

Bargains and beautiful skin Smile

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 16/10/2014 14:31

I have very sensitive skin and am ok with the nivea natural range and for night body shop vitamin e

SugarPlumTree · 16/10/2014 14:38

I am a recent convert to Astral.

NothingTraLaLa · 16/10/2014 14:39

I used the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser for years and years until they changed the formula and made it somehow... sticky. Ugh. I couldn't get to the shops so I used what I had, which was Aveeno cream for DD's eczema, and it was brilliant! I haven't had my hormonal chin spots since, and my skin looks great.

I can't be of any help on the cleanser as I use Liz Earle, but might try the cheaper Superdrug stuff others have recommended when the current tube runs out.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/10/2014 15:21

Soap and Glory here ( they often have a Buy One Get One Half Price in Boots)
Love their Miccelar Water to do a night cleanse and it will remove make-up. one of their wash-off cleansers in the shower and the Serum in the silver pump tube.
I like results from few products

I have some random bottles of Philosophy Purity and some Good Things Manuka Honey cleanser to do a proper cleanse if I've worn more make-up.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/10/2014 15:23

I bought some Nivea Soft and Anne French cleanser for my DD (Boots 3 for 2) she is 12 but I remember now nice Anne French cleanser used to feel on my pre-teen skin.

ValerieTheVodkaFairy · 16/10/2014 15:27

Astral. Astral. Astral.

99p for a tub that lasts ages, in Home Bargains. I stockpile it. It's the only one I can use

And Olay basic cleanser

ValerieTheVodkaFairy · 16/10/2014 15:29

With a warm flannel, I should add
