before I make a boot decision I cant afford to regret...

what boots am I supposed to wear with straight leg jeans? I have a pair of below knee boots which are fine but would like another pair, I'm thinking ankle boots are for skinnys which at size 16 I'm to 'parsnippy' for so I stick with straight leg cut.

I'm thinking a mid calf boot would be alright... yay or nay?

I haven't worn jeans of any kind for years - am thinking of getting some but last time I wore them bootcuts were still in fashion. So forgive me for asking but why could you not tuck straight leg jeans into a wide (ish) boot? Do they have that much more fabric around the leg than skinnies?

Update incase anyone is interested :) I've just ordered the Timblerland boots in dark brown as they were on Amazon for just £87 and free returns with Prime so that's a start anyhow!

Now I'm thinking I need a black slightly more casual pair for school run and general errand running --so I don't have to resort to sketchers trainers unless absolutely necessary--

Thanks everyone for your help yesterday Flowers

Here they are...

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GU9JUYW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

only a few sizes available at £87 but considering they are £120 on the Timberland site its not a bad saving.

I've got the timberland birchmonts in tan and in chocolate, as I loved the first pair I got so much I bought a second! Was about to type in a recommendation for them when I saw your update Smile

They are lovely to wear, comfortable, and quite smart.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/10/2014 18:02

They are lovely. I hope they work for you! :)

Do you want links for black ones now? Flat ones?

TheFallenMadonna · 13/10/2014 18:14

Oh I like them!

dexter73 · 13/10/2014 18:53

Ooh very nice!

kiwidreamer · 13/10/2014 19:31

I feel even better for that double recommendation Holger, thanks Smile

Go on then Remus twist my rubber arm Wink I have a pair of just below the knee black boots from Gabor, small block heel but they are really tight to do up over my jeans these days --nothing to do with that extra stone I put on since last winter I'm sure of it-- so something I can wear with the jeans over top would be good, they would need to be practical for day to day SAHM'ing while lifting my game a little bit Wink

Budget?

Superlovely · 13/10/2014 19:35

What size are you?
I bought some john Lewis children's boots size 6 for my daughter and I think I will get a pair for me for straight keg jeans to wear underneath. They were only £39. Quite chunky, black or brown.

Love those timberlands. Good choice

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/10/2014 21:11

I like these but imagine most people will hate them

Bog standard black Chelsea

I like the heel on these but not sure re shape

Bargain Topshop They have a couple more too, all quite cheap.
