If your hair is long enough use the Pineapple method it works well. More ideas here

I can't sleep with mine up, I get too cold without it round my face and neck, especially if I use a turban. I find going to bed with it loose and fairly damp makes it look good in the morning, but don't like doing that every night. I don't put it up at all at night when it's damp as it will still be damp in the morning, but sometimes do put it in a bun in the morning after damping it damp and release it later, that makes fabulous bouncy waves.

I sometimes just put it on a low bunch pulled halfway back through the band in the nape of my neck or do a French plait, but I can't be bothered with that very often and it needs to be completely combed through to do it. Mine's too short to go up on top of my head and I can't have it at the back as it's uncomfy. So basically I wear it loose most of the time because that's easiest and most comfy. I tried a silk pillowcase and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2014 17:07

That first sentence should have started with In winter, I do put it up in summer sometimes.

ZaraW · 20/10/2014 19:33

I love silk pillowcases I no longer get creases (lovely) on my face when I wake up.........

ShinySilver · 20/10/2014 20:00

My hair looks good after cutting using the method in the video linked to earlier in the thread. Defined curls and finally not triangular!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2014 20:24

Silk pillowcase didn't make the slightest bit of difference to my skin either.

theonlygothinthevillage · 20/10/2014 21:57

Yay, Shiny! I used to get triangular too. It seems obvious now that it ought to be cut dry and curl by curl ... oh well, better to find out late than never :)

I'll try the pineapple although I'm not sure what DH will say to that. I've plaited it ever since I grew it when I went to university, I always had short hair before that and I couldn't stand having anything round my face while asleep. I also wear it pulled back for work or when playing with the dc.

More questions (sorry), does anyone have a fringe and how do you cut it? Growing my fringe out didn't look good. What do you do to your hair in the morning if you've no time to wash it? It's raining and I am sporting a particularly attractive frizzball today.

ZaraW · 21/10/2014 15:36

CardiCorgi could be worse you could be using a satin bonnet!

I always wash my hair the night before and then pineapple overnight the next morning I just spray some water on or use the Deva lavenda spray which reactivates the curls it works well.

Didactylos · 21/10/2014 15:40

i may try the pineapple method

but was planning to have a fill face of ponds cold cream and a bed jacket on as well just to maximise the freaking DH out experience

Sorry it's called Mister Right Lavendar spray

FavadiCacao · 05/11/2014 19:53

WhoKnowWheretheTimeGoes, Thank you. Grin
I bought the Dr Organic Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo it's gorgeous. :) The conditioner is a bit light for my hair, but the smell is so addictive that I'll continue to use a couple of drop as a leave in after my regular conditioner!

CurlyWurlyCake · 05/11/2014 21:35

Just marking my place. Interesting thread for my wild frizzy hair. I never brush it just finger comb through conditioner.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/11/2014 21:39

That's great FavadiCacao, glad you like it. I've been using the new Garnier ones in the brown bottles which are silicone free but not sulphate free but think I'm due a return to Dr Organic at my next purchase.

ggirl · 06/11/2014 08:43

Interested in this. I'm concerned about product build up , how do you use the bicarbonate and apple cider and where do you buy it?
