I look like a small boy! Confused

My ok hairdresser moved on, I tried a new one at the same salon. It's too short! :(
Normally I don't mind how much is cut off, but this time I just look like a small boy!

Please can you give me any tips to get through the next 6 weeks till I can get it re cut.

I had a v similar thread a while back. I opted for lots more mascara and lipstick than usual, until it grew out a bit. :)

Behoove · 03/10/2014 21:15

It'll soon grow, in the meantime...

Ha! Mine too!! Normally leave a long fringe and messy looking all over but I gave the hairdresser free rein yesterday and it's half an inch long all over....she says chic, I say twelve year old boy Sad I hate that my face is so exposed! am following this thread for help!

Suddengeekgirl · 03/10/2014 21:18

Thanks remus - I don't wear much make up normally if any so will have to crank it up a bit I guess

behoove I will laugh at that one day, but probably not today Blush

Mascara. Lots of mascara. I bet it looks great though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/10/2014 21:18

And earrings.

Behoove · 03/10/2014 21:19

Sorry [hug] bet it looks fine, only you'll notice it's a bit shorter than normal.

It doesn't look great.
I would be perfectly happy with a Jean Seberg (sp?) cut. I don't mind my face being exposed. It's just too shapeless and fuzzy on top.

My ear piercings closed up years ago so thats out. But mascara is good.
I will be crossing my fingers for winter to start now so I can wear a wooly hat!

I got my ears re-pierced when I had my hair cropped.

Suddengeekgirl · 03/10/2014 21:29

stickem - no I haven't for years as I get my hair cut every 5-6 weeks. Any new hairdresser is just tidying up the last cut iyswim - not doing anything different. Lesson learnt there I guess.

I know it'll grow really fast - I usually want it cut after 4 weeks but hold out for 5-6. But for now I'm a grumpy bunny.

Probably a silly question but, have you washed it and tried to style it yourself yet?

treemugger - I've washed it. I had to to get rid of the teeny tiny bits if hair left on my scalp! I had to run my head vigorously over the bath - which literally covered it! Then wash it twice to get the rest of the bits out.
I haven't styled it yet - which might tame the fuzz a bit. My hair is too short and thick to re style.

I am probably guilty of not speaking my mind enough while I was there. I think I thought it would be ok, then when I got home and looked properly it wasn't right. Blush

stickem - not really got enough money for going elsewhere - or more importantly enough hair now!

I made this mistake recently, plenty more make up and a few nice headbands helped shape my hair around my face properly, until it was long enough to style properly.

It's always a shock for a couple of days but about five/six weeks in, when it's grown out slightly, it'll look lovely Smile

TreeMugger · 03/10/2014 21:52

I'm terrible for telling hairdressers what I really think too! It does grow quickly but it's horrible when you don't like your hair. Get yourself some hats and scarfy hair band things and give it a few weeks Wink

321zerobaby · 03/10/2014 23:16

I read on here once that the difference between a good haircut and a bad is about 2 weeks.
How about some colour in it?

theonlygothinthevillage · 03/10/2014 23:28

This was me in May last year. Haven't had a cut since except some DIY tidying of the back. It won't look dead short for more than a month. I used it as an opportunity to work on the condition since all the nasty dry bits and old dye had been cut out. Stopped dying and started doing the curly girl method. 18 months on I have quite shiny curly hair (admittedly with more grey than I'd like) that is nearly shoulder length. But I did spend about 2 months in a woolly hat ... but then I have unmanageable hair and couldn't do anything with it. Invest in some pretty clips to help you through the in between stage!

cerealqueen · 03/10/2014 23:35

channel your inner mia farrow,

tint/shape eyebrows, bit of glossy hair cream?

LaurieFairyCake · 03/10/2014 23:43

Have you tried a big, fetching bow?

In pink.

With 'it's a girl' embroidered on it ?

Wink
Suddengeekgirl · 04/10/2014 00:19

Ha ha! Laugh all you like but some day a scissor happy hairdresser gets the better of us all!

Sure it'll have grown out by the morning! Confused

Have not read thread.

Advice from my dad.

The difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut?

A fortnight Grin

Too true for those of us with fringes and glasses. Two weeks max, before my fridge is too long and annoying me. Again.
