Trying on knickers - is this a thing you do?

So waiting to try some bras on today and noticed the lady in front had some teeny tiny g strings to try on.

Is this normal? It made me feel slightly ill that a g string I may purchase had been tried on by someone else - now I know why my mother always told me to wash clothes before wearing

Never, but I am a cheapskate and buy those ones in a pack, so you can't really try them on, and would hope no-one else had either!

I have never heard of people trying on knickers. So gross. I always thought that wasn't allowed in shops. I am going to wash the minge batter them now from new if dirty mares have been doing this.

On the odd occasion when buying an expensive matching set, yes. Always keep my own knickers on underneath though obviously!!

Only £40 tummy control ones and then over my underwear.

I always try on knickers if they are expensive but only over my own ones.

(I thought this was common as there are signs in the Bravissimo changing rooms telling you to do that)

Only expensive ones, places like agent provocateur have crazy sizes, you can never know what fits without trying,

even trying them on oner your own knickers is only ok if they are clean. never wearing a new pair without washing them first now

I used to work in the lingerie department of a department store. People would try to return worn knickers. You could tell, is all I'm saying.

Also those stickers in the crotches of swimwear would often have a pube or two stuck to them.

EWWWWW! I always try on knickers, .unless I've bought the same ones before. But ALWAYS over my own knickers. Same for bikini pants. Otherwise how do you know they fit?

Once I was in a changing room with curtains and you could see into the next cubicle through the mirror. I saw a woman, who was wearing LEATHER trousers whilst going commando (barf) try on jeans. Commando. And then not buy them.

Might just be me but I'm not sure why trying on knickers on top of your own knickers is any worse than trying on tight trousers over your knickers

do the 'ewwww' posters never try on a bikini or swimsuit- or tight fitting trousers?

I was boaking at the leather trousers with no knickers.

She had no bras with her.

I always buy bigger knickers than my usual size and never try them on. I will however always be washing them before wearing from now on.

Reminds me of when belinda found there's a niche if people who do demi naked selfies in changing rooms

But what is the difference between trying on jeggings, leggings, treggings, bikinis and swim suits? serious question.

Because teeny g strings go right up your bottom don't they! Hopefully your leggings don't

Also swimsuits have that plastic bit in them. I would never buy a swimsuit that didn't have the plastic bit in it.

I hope she bought them & didn't put them back on the rack.

I try on knickers and swimsuits over my own knickers. I don't wear g strings though. I don't see trying on knickers over knickers as any different to trying on leggings over knickers.
It's in contact with your skin less than when you try bras on as you don't try bras on over your bra, and most people try bras on as the fit varies so much.
If it fits you can wash it when you get home.
