Tunics/short dresses with leggings - is this now a fashion faux pas?

I hope not. And if so, what's the alternative?

(Prompted by someone on the Vogue thread saying leggings were 'so 2004'.)

So braless given my post immediately before yours, you've effectively just said I have sausage thighs. Bit of a bitchy post, no? Presumably said thighs will 'battle for space' regardless of whether they're in leggings, tights or skinny jeans.

fwiw, I don't. And if I wear them under a dress it looks perfectly fine.

But kaykay, leggings are basically tights - but without the feet! What's the difference? Confused

As for those 'disco pants' - tight AND shiny = scary. I barely know any twenty-somethings who could get away with that (heck, some teens would be pushing it), let alone anyone older...

I'm quite sure my 'sausage thighs are battling for space' Hmm

Luckily my non cuntish personality makes up for it...

And..... Getting back to the thread, the consensus seems to be that dress/tunic is mostly deemed ok but casual, and assumes the wearer has suitable legs. But it's a marmite thing.

Leggings, with bum uncovered, is a totally different matter. Unless you are under 14.

I think if it works for you = fine. Personally I've never got on with leggings, but would rather wear jeans anyway (and at work, I need to be a minimum of smart casual, so couldn't wear leggings in working environment even if I wanted to).

I also have a little issue of not wearing the same clothes my 9YO daughter would wear.
