Rudy, I got that cardigan in Sage last year. I kept it but I sort of wish I hadn't. I got it in Small, but it's huge and it makes me look like a bit of a porker. Maybe it's because I'm short and shouldn't do chunky knitwear.
So sorry to hear about your uncle(s), MrsS, you really have had a horrible year.
MI, just do what you feel is right. We all have to play to our strengths in these situations and personally I am completely crap at hand-holding and much better at getting practical tasks done, including liaising with med professionals and/or ferreting out information.
BD, congrats on the lovely new bathroom. Ah, the joy of bathroom fittings that are pristine.
I am still busy hacking through the to-do list that includes things that have been on it for 15 years (I moved into this house the day before dd's first b-day). Dh is on board and is currently sanding and painting the doors from the very large cupboard on the landing. Which were in a hideous state when I moved in and remained that way until yesterday.
Dd has finally passed her Gold lifesaving award and can do the RLSS lifeguard qualification. I have been taking her to swimming lessons since she was 5, dragging her there for the last 2 years. She's bloody pleased now, though.
Having spent 2 days despairing about being "too thick" to do A levels at the start of term last week, dd came home much happier on Friday after having her first day of proper lessons. All good on the teacher front aside from one duff biology teacher, allegedly. All the teachers spent the first 2 days just banging on about how hard her A levels were going to be (Maths, Bio, Chem, French) and poor old dd was immediately convinced she was not equal to the task, but feels better having actually had some of the lessons and realising that she can give it a good go after all. She is also now talking about sorting herself out some work experience, as our vet has said for Vet Science, apart from actually seeing what goes on various vet practices, she needs to spend a few days in a variety of farms, rescue centres and an abattoir. This is when living in a rural area is very handy.
