OP posts:
lalsy · 11/08/2014 14:38

I'm just heading off to Lidl Smile.

Words fail me, MI. This week is going to be looong (here too, A level results on Thursday).

motherinferior · 11/08/2014 14:41

I've just been to Lidl! Rock'n'roll!

bigTillyMint · 11/08/2014 15:29

MI, what an effing mare. But at least you have Lidl!

Am just chilling with my last coffee in Nica in my fav garden cafe, with a bit of Bob todaySmile

Stropps, hows the camping going? Hope youve not been blown/washed away by Bertha/whatevers happening over there!

motherinferior · 11/08/2014 15:33

Lidl had BIG bottles of Hoegarden.

bigTillyMint · 11/08/2014 15:36

I trust you didnt buy any MI?

Blackduck · 11/08/2014 15:52

That photo was 9.30ish this morning goodness know that I'm going home to....
BTM sounds like you are having a fab time!

motherinferior · 11/08/2014 15:55

Only one (1, i) because I couldn't carry any more.

Blackduck · 11/08/2014 18:45

End of day one - we discover a window....

motherinferior · 11/08/2014 18:50

To add to the other admin joys of my week, DP has blithely emailed me saying he's placed an online supermarket order 'do add anything you feel like'. For a cottage where the cooking amenities are basic. OK, so that's pasta. Lots. And more lots...I do not feel much like cooking either.

Also he has been suggesting a picnic for the crossing day - good call - but also 'not things that will make DD2 carsick'. DD2 is v rarely carsick, and I would much rather eat posh sausage rolls than make sandwiches.

Stropperella · 11/08/2014 23:03

BTM, I think both dh and I have trench foot and the state of play between dh and dd is much like the current situation in the Middle East.

CointreauVersial · 11/08/2014 23:35

Oh. Doesn't sound good, Strops.

MI - I love Hoegaarden. XBF introduced me to it many years ago when you couldn't buy it in the UK, so every time we visited friends in Brussels we came back with crates of it.

The DDs went off this morning to their PGL week - I dropped them off in Hindhead in a high state of excitement. Any hopes of a quiet evening have been dashed, as DS has seized the moment and has three friends over for a sleepover. Two are girls. Eek. Confused DH has just taken DS off for a little "chat".

bigTillyMint · 12/08/2014 00:37

Trenchfoot StroppsShock And warfare. Hope the vino helps!

MI I hate having to cook on hol too. And sort picnics. Why do they all assume its our job?!

We had a day of travel today, with a grumpy DH and DC. Because he decided on achange of plan 45mins before we were due to leave... No prob with a change of plan, but he was stressing big time Angry
Anyway we are now in Costa Rica in a cute little place just up from the beach which we just rocked up at because DH was unable to book the place he wanted in 15mins. Ironically the DC love it atm despite us all being in one room.

bigTillyMint · 12/08/2014 00:39

CV, we often end up with mixed sleepovers. Last time DS slept with DDs two (girl)friends and DD woth DSs mate. In the platonic sense afaik and afaih!

bigTillyMint · 12/08/2014 00:57

Auriga, just seen your wedding bride on FB - she looks so beautifulSmile

Blackduck · 12/08/2014 06:03

CV how old is ds?
Here the last sleepover ds had involved him a and two girls! (He's 11 and the talk has been had)

Oh Stropps that doesn't sound relaxing at all - sorry :(

lalsy · 12/08/2014 08:17

dd has had mixed sleepovers for years, they seemed to manage it fine, but she was in a friendship group that included boys and girls so it seemed natural. ds mainly sees boys so it doesn't usually arise but I don't think they'd feel so comfortable as they haven't grown up together.

Stropps, hope you OK and weather/moods improve.

motherinferior · 12/08/2014 08:30

So I went for a Ladyjog for the first time in a few days...

...and as I was walking up our road I saw a Royal Mail van. I sprinted crazily up, just in time to meet a nice man at our door AND GUESS WHAT I'VE GOT NOW!!!!!

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Blackduck · 12/08/2014 08:52

YES!!

Are you having a nice lie down now MI?

MontserratCaballe · 12/08/2014 09:07

Wow! Huge congratulations on your safe arrival. The power of the ladyjog. Holidays are go! Grin

Rosebag · 12/08/2014 09:07

There is a god….great news MI Grin

motherinferior · 12/08/2014 09:16

I am tempted to take myself out for a nice lunch to celebrate. Grin

Monty, btw, the Footner stuff is rather good though not miracle-working if your feet were in reasonable shape before, which mine were (they weren't always - I devoutly hope Molly never caught a glimpse of my manky soles back in the day); I shall definitely do it again from time to time, not least because a fascinatingly revolting layer of dead skin peels away.

herbaceous · 12/08/2014 09:23

Having jolly time at sis's mansion, but have been struck down by a virus, whose symptoms include weakness, sore throat, headache, temperature and, oddly, the trots. I was awake from 1.30 last night.

Still going to visit T Wells friend, but will remain at a safe distance from everyone. And go to bed at 8 o'clock with a double dose of Night Nurse. And we're off on hols on Friday, so I hope DS and DP don't get it. Sad

motherinferior · 12/08/2014 09:43

Oh, herbs, how horrible! I would suggest you stay at home, and request little snacks from time to time.

Blackduck · 12/08/2014 09:49

Herbs :(

Agree with MI - wouldn't it be better to stay put?

Here day two of the bathroom renovation continues (awaiting update photo from dp...)

MollyAir · 12/08/2014 09:53

Sorry you're sick, Herbs, that's horrible. Sad Fingers crossed for ds and dp staying well.

MI, what a triumph - definitely go out for a nice lunch - they made you work really hard for that, so you deserve to celebrate and self-congratulate. As for showing a clean pair of heels Wink - I dread to think what you have seen of mine, so to speak.

We have mixed sleepovers but some parents are somewhat wary of them, so I have to do massive reassurance about our level of vigilance (high). Also we lock up the alcohol, and give dire warnings that if anything at all untoward happens, they will never ever ever have a sleepover of any kind again.
