Are these shoes acceptable with a dress? or are they frumpy?

these ones

Before you all die laughing at a hush puppies link, I find it so hard to walk in high heels, and when I go out, I end up wearing flats. I need something that gives me a lift but that I can walk in. I do have to be able to walk in them. Can't emphasise that bit enough.

ok, though, tell me the truth as hard as it may be to hear it.

The ones I liked from the guardian are twice the price of the ones I linked to !

If it's any consolation - these are going to my autumn/winter work shoes - got to have a wedge, and supportive cries that I sound like my mother hush puppies

YellowStripe · 06/08/2014 19:19

PS I like your original linked ones OP

trikken · 06/08/2014 19:29

They are ok. Not overly fancy but I wouldn't say frumpy. Depends on the dress.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/08/2014 19:35

Thanks, Fairy. really, really need to try on in store and really want leather. Will keep looking. Sorry for the hijack, GreenTea.

How about another Carvela one?

I like them OP. I'd get the brown ones and wear with a long denim dress in a Hot Seventies Mum stylee. The dead flat pointy toed ones look excruciatingly uncomfortable to me.

MrsMarigold · 06/08/2014 21:42

I'm not sure what your budget is but I think [www.chiemihara.com Chie Mihara] make fabulous but comfortable shoes - they would be an investment.

MrsMarigold · 06/08/2014 21:43

Oops why didn't the link work? Seriously you need to spend money on your feet.

Remus Boden still have pointed sling back flats in several colours in clearance. I have navy and vole and they are nice but come up a bit small I think. Next have sold out but I did grab a black pair from M&S last week for £7.99

BravePotato · 06/08/2014 23:10

Chie Mihara is amaing, in comfort and style.

Like the Esska ones Tethersend linked to too

The OP ones are just so... Bland.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/08/2014 15:52

Sorry, Salon, but (imvho obvs) those are absolutely hideous.

Thanks, Charlie. Nothing in M&S or Next today and Boden no good as want a real shop. Anyway, have spent all of my money on a leather jacket now, so I'll have to do without shoes! :)

LadyIsabella - agree that the shoes in the Op work better in brown (or red) than in black.
