Am I missing out on some gorgeous fragrances by not ever choosing celebrity perfumes? It's just never occurred to me to buy them.

Any recommendations?

I will try those thanks. Would any of these celebrity-linked perfumes be in those categories? I have had an unwarranted prejudice against them.

MissBattleaxe · 05/08/2014 13:15

J Lo Deseo is a gorgeous oceanic/fresh scent for summer and comes in a lovely bottle. Its currently very cheap but doesn't smell cheap. ( around 8.95 on Amazon Uk)

Scarletohello · 05/08/2014 13:25

I really want to go try some of these perfumes now! :)

goodasitgets · 05/08/2014 13:33

I'm a clean/citrus lover too. My favourites
DKNY original woman
Tous h2o
Armani acqua di gioia
CK one summer
Monotheme boccioli di limone (this is utter bliss, so lemony)
Davidoff cool water pure pacific
Library of fragrance pure soap

gaggiagirl · 05/08/2014 14:40

Britney spears fantasy and midnight fantasy are both gorgeous.

Gwen Stefani lamb is a beauty, similar to estee lauder beautiful sheer.

Jlo deseo is nice.

All of SJPs are great.

Cliff Richards does a perfume called devil woman. Who has tried it? Own up!

OsloGin · 05/08/2014 14:59

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a great list of things to try.

Don't think I'll be trying Cliff's fragrance though!

MissBattleaxe · 05/08/2014 15:36

Actually, fact fans, the first celebrity perfumer in the world was Antonio Banderas as far back as 1997. He has won FiFi Awards for his fragrance s and is well regarded by critics.

gaggiagirl · 07/08/2014 18:39

Ooh miss I like a good fact, have you tried it?

I tried a queen latifah one in America it was pretty good.

The Hilary Duff one is really nice too.

SirNoel · 07/08/2014 18:54

"...and I shall name it....Fancy Nights!"

Bwahaha that has made me laugh

MissBattleaxe · 08/08/2014 10:14

Sir Noel- even better- she has named one of her perfumes "I Fancy You" which I want to buy just in case anyone asks me what i'm wearing.

Actually Fancy Nights with its dodgy name and Vegas packaging is excellent. I read a recommendation of it on the excellent blog Australian Perfume Junkies. Since it was only 7.95 I bought a bottle and I really liked it. The patchouli is kind of milky and the vanilla is there but doesn't smell like cakes. Worth a pop.

MissBattleaxe · 08/08/2014 10:17

gaggiagirl- I haven't tried his stuff but his brand has been going for years and is very successful. However if Antonio Banderas is reading this and would like to meet me to give me some free samples, then you can PM me Antonio. We can talk perfume and I can check how your divorce is going.

OneLittleLady · 08/08/2014 10:55

I really want to try Fancy Nights, I've heard so many good things about it. I'm not keen on the bottle but if it smells nice, it won't bother me especially. I generally don't like the bulk of celeb scents simply because they all smell the same to me and the fruity notes tend to put me off as I don't tend to go for anything especially fruity

MissBattleaxe · 08/08/2014 11:14

OneLittleLady- you are right- so many of them smell the same- I could swear there was a huge Vat of the same fruity sickly mess and they just put it in lots of different bottles most of the time.

However, there are a few exceptions and they are so good that they are really worth seeking out. I love it because its like seeking treasure, plus they are usually very cheap.

gaggiagirl · 10/08/2014 10:51

Is Antonio getting divorced? Weeeeee form an orderly line lasses!

HowAboutNo · 10/08/2014 12:02

I did end up buying Lovely. And it really like it!

I quite like the sound of JLo Deseo too...

Hooray! another convert! Good choice OP.

purpleapple1234 · 11/08/2014 07:29

I had a really nice naomi campbell perfume in a golden star shaped bottle. I forget the name but it was unusual and interesting. Discontinued ungory but I'd love to find a similar one.

bberry · 11/08/2014 07:51

Gucci envy is/was my all time favourite... Does anyone know of anything that smells like it, or have any in their possession I could purchase!!

MissBattleaxe · 11/08/2014 14:45
