Tube mascara revisited, opinions please.

I'd given up on wearing mascara a few years ago. chemo treatment made them fall out and re growth was sparse. And my eyes still water a lot.But then I read here about tube mascaras! Do they really really do everything I've read here, like thicken lashes and, crucially, not give you panda eyes?

I mostly wear Clinique (cos I'm a frequent visitor to the U.S. And it's so much cheaper) but my next visit isn't until end Sept.

If Clinique gets the thumbs-up here, tho, I'll buy at their July sale, otherwise is there another make you can recommend, please?

V. Many thanks for replies/advice (even if it IS 'don't bother, they don't work)!
Cheers.

I'm very disappointed that you are putting you social life before your duty to MN Style and Beauty. I would have expected more of you

It's not as if I'm a sad person with nothing better to do on a Friday night than surf the net

What Kristina said, but with a wagging finger and tapping foot also!

bikermouse1 · 16/08/2014 04:40

Do you think I actually WANTED to spend the night in the company of loud louche lowlife lads and ladettes laughing and having what I think is called " a Good Time"? If I laughed til I cried it was all done in the name of Research, and actually there was nothing funny about it. (Sniff)

First report- still no Panda eyes!!!

And now I'm going to sleep. Or will when that bloody foot-tapping noise stops.

Will report back later. Quite deliberately I've not washed the tubes off. Want to see if they will survive a night's shut-eye. Need to know for when I do a night flight later in the year.

My Reeesearch is relentless.

C'mon , it's breakfast time, where are you ?

bikermouse1 · 16/08/2014 08:56

You woke me up- you pinged my I-pad and woke me upShock water, I need water. Some to drink hot with a tea bag and some cold on a pad to take off the remaining tubes. Lost some but most still there. Eyes not swollen as they were before if I didn't remove eye make-up (yes, it has been knownBlush).still very impressed with tubing mascaras. Can anyone tell me if Clinique brushes are nice and fat? I've a small Clinique mascara, think it must have been a freebie, and that's got a lovely brush. I certainly think that the bigger brushes are better than the thin one like wot's on the Boots one.

LOL at wake up call

Also that after a night of drinking, curry and clubbing til dawn, you can blame the puffy eyes on the mascara

Are both eyes and legs the same ?

bikermouse1 · 16/08/2014 20:51

Kristina! Can categorically confirm that my eyes and legs are not, and never have, been 'the same' I'm not a bleeding spider y'know

I.ve spent this arvers at the hairdressers. What does this have to do with tubing mascaras? Well, I've only come across black or black/brown so far and the latter seems more black than brown, so I'm v.v. Pleased with my new hair colour(s). From sun-bleached ash colour, now a dark mousy colour with some blonde highlights but balanced by low lights in......

purple.Grin

The darker mascara colour works a treat with my new look. I so heart my hairdresserFlowers

I think that, now I've pretty well sorted out the mascara problem, I need to reeesearch 'chubby' lipsticks.

WTF are they all about then? Honestly, all this stuff has just passed me by, and I'm really, but really, enjoying getting back into the Real World of Make(up) Believe.

Thanks everyone for your input to date.

Really appreciated,

X mouse

Wait a minute. So the white bit on the L'Oreal one isn't the tubes? I thought I had to use that first

bottlecat · 16/08/2014 21:09

I would love to wear mascara for work but it makes my eyes sore and my eyelashes always fall out so I only wear it on (rare) nights out. Will tubing mascara be better then?

bikermouse1 · 16/08/2014 21:39

Coco, I just don't know, hope someone else can answer you....

B/cat tho....well worth a try I reckon. I've only tried the no.7 and the Superdrug's B Range and both gave wondrous results at v.little outlay. Might it be an idea to trial them over a w/end? To the falling out prob, because I had a complete fall-out as a result of my chemo treatment, I'm understandably aware that any adverse reaction to the tubing would be a massive setback for me cos re growth seems to be so v.v.slow. (And in fact the bottom lashes never did re grow).

I can only say that these two worked for me.

G'won, next w/end, give them a go.

I would SO love to read that they're the success for you that they've been for meSmile
