Which SLS free shampoo do you love?

I am struggling to find a SLS free shampoo that I love.

Naked range was meh
Bodyshop rainforest is my current one - it's ok but I don't love it.

What are you using and is it great?
I don't want to spend a fortune, and if I can get a fairly 'natural' one - the less chemicals the better then that'd be great. :)

I had a look in Lush the other day and the shampoos they had that were SLS free had ammonium laureth sulphate instead and after trying one on my hands I think I'm allergic to that too Confused

Another few to toss in -

For kids, Weleda Calendula hair and body wash, though it's quite rich so would say for normal hair, not greasy. I really like this as it's one product I pack for us all for a weekend away. You can get it in Boots and Waitrose, often 1/3 off.

For a greasy haired kid you could try Dr Bronner's liquid soap, which suits some hair types beautifully. DH uses it on his very curly hair once every few days with no conditioner and looks great. They do a baby version among others, but my favourites are almond and lavender.

For shampoo, I've just got started on Australian Organics, which is SLS and silicone free I found in Holland and Barrett and I've only used it once but so far so good, my hair is soft and shiny! there's a wider range of conditioner and different packaging in John Lewis where it gets rave reviews.

I bought my sister the Green People stuff when she had a sensitised scalp and she didn't like it at all (normal straightish hair).

I loved the L'Oreal Ever range in the US so much I made MIL import it for me. I was so excited when it came out here, but they used different formulations Sad. It seems there is no normal / daily option, they're all very rich. And the smell is SO strong!

Jason is also on my list to try, that's supposed to be good.

We have started to use Urtekram nettle shampoo and the children use the chamomile. My scalp problems have almost completely cleared up.

They are both £5 for 250 ml in our local health food shop.

I use Creme of Nature Argan oil shampoo (amazon etc) as I found that body shop and naked etc dried out my hair to cotton wool whereas this lathers up well and is v moisturising

For conditioner washing I use H&B dr organics argan oil conditioner and the intense version in the pot as a deep treatment

For styling Ouidad climate control gel which is brilliant but something in it makes me itch:(

Three year into CG and dread to think how many products and still haven't found HG yet

Are you all familiar with this site?

I recommend Faith in Nature shampoos - I have tried Lavender & Geranium, Tea Tree and Rosemary, and they work well for me (my hair is straight, thick and normal-oily). Have also tried Jason, but didn't like that so well. Aveda is lovely, but pricey as others have said.

rootypig · 24/07/2014 22:54

Another pricey one - I bought it today with a voucher I got sent - is Kiehls Amino Acid. It smells divinely of coconut. It is paraben and silicone free. It doesn't list SLS but sodium coco sulphate? Anyway it is so lovely.

Fedupnagging · 25/07/2014 08:47

Am trying to find decent sls and paraban free hair and body products since my skin became very itchy about 9months ago. I also learnt that the hair products are so much better at keeping curly hair under control.

I have already tried the H&B products but wasn't keen. Am currently using Boots Naked range which I quite like. (Body still itchy though!) Have noticed a definite improvement with my hair though.

Will follow up some of your links - keep them coming!

rootypig · 25/07/2014 11:25

Fedup if you're interested in using one product for hair and body, Aveda do a brilliant hair and body cleanser in their suncare range though it is £££££ it is LOVELY

You could try the Weleda Calendula baby hair and body wash I posted upthread too, about £6 a bottle, the whole family uses it here.

rootypig · 25/07/2014 11:25

(DD and DH have atopic skin)

Neverendingnappies · 25/07/2014 12:58

i use Matrix Biolage Keratin dose.

Its lovely. I used to use the Loreal Eversleek/strong/pure range which was nice but found it increasingly difficult to get hold of from boots and i found i had an itchy scalp after use, though i didnt realise that was the reason until after i stopped using it.

Fedupnagging · 26/07/2014 07:11

Thanks Rooty, that would be great for holiday - and no I don't think id mind using the same product for hair and body.

margaritasbythesea · 26/07/2014 07:37

Has anyone tried Klorane.

I think Mistry is FAB too!

rootypig · 26/07/2014 11:05

Yup Fedup I just buy it once or twice a year for holiday, it's nice just to pack one bottle Smile

margarita I've tried Klorane, didn't realise it's SLS free, they are lovely though they vary hugely for hair type eg mango butter was too heavy for me.... I would look at the whole range online and see which one you think would suit. Peony I think is for normal hair. The bottles are very pretty Blush

Rosa · 26/07/2014 11:19

Faith in nature...... Loads of different types am currently using the aloe ones and like them ...just read the ingredients and it has ammonium laueth sulphate ...its that a baddie as well??????

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 26/07/2014 11:30

I love the faith in nature chocolate one

boodles · 26/07/2014 17:20

Organic surge is fabulous.

BetweenDogandWolf · 26/07/2014 17:29

Another vote for Organic Surge (their moisturiser is great too).

goingloombandcrazy · 26/07/2014 17:32

My faith in nature has recently given me build up even though I rinse a lot so on look out again!
