Nocomet, I don't necessarily think that the things you said rule out short hair. Mine is pretty straight, and used to get really greasy when it was long. Now I shampoo my pixie cut every day, but only condition it once a week. I don't think it's ever looked greasy since I got it cut short.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/06/2014 20:53

It looks amazing, it's taken years off you!

I went for the chop a month ago. It's very liberating. I've been saying I was going to do it for about 2 years but my Kids and DH kept talking me out of it, so I made the appointment and did it without telling them! I am so glad I did!

efeslight · 13/06/2014 20:54

Agree its taken years off you - you look fantastic

WastingMyYoungYears · 13/06/2014 20:55

We should have a thread where we all NC and post photos of our short hair Grin.

I love my short hair, and finally feel like me. I can't hide behind my hair any more either, so I think it's made me feel more confident too.

Cocolepew · 13/06/2014 20:56

My hair is similar at the monent and I use a wax stick, think its maybe toni and guy. I get it from Boots and it last forever.

Cocolepew · 13/06/2014 21:00

This is it, the packaging maybe different now.

I've had the chop!!
SoftKittyWarmKitty · 13/06/2014 21:01

It looks fantastic! You look loads younger. What a difference it's made!

brunette123 · 13/06/2014 21:02

wow you look wonderful!

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 21:10

Thanks coco - I'll get some of that tomorrow, along with some Sleek Me(?) blusher/bronzer someone rec'd on another thread. Apparently as good as Nars so I'm assuming it's the dogs b*llocks!

Another quick question - if anyone is good at colours - am I autumn or winter?

Fairy one of my DDs is speechless (in a good way) - not had an opinion from the one who didn't want me to have it cut. But ffs, I'm 47, I don't need permission from ANYONE!!

Sadly my hair has no body, it has no wish to be styled, products make random bits stick up in random directions for five minutes.

I have a DF who has her hair like the OPs, it looks great, but I also know her '80's flick looked great. She has obedient thick hair.

My hair is badly behaved from it's splitting ends to it's greasy roots.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2014 21:39

Love it - it's made an amazing difference. I really like your make up too.

Best1sWest · 13/06/2014 21:44

You look fab. I did the same thing two years ago and haven't looked back.

Best1sWest · 13/06/2014 21:47

I like your specs too. Where are they from? I need new ones.

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 21:52

They're from SpecSavers but I'm not sure I would recommend them! Very light, titanium frames but I can't them comfortable, and the staff seem to have trouble adjusting the arms.

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 21:54

Remus the hairdresser put some make up on me so I could take a decent photo! Estée Lauder blusher (or bronzer) and a Clarins lipstick - more orangy than I would EVER have considered wearing - always been a Plum Beautiful/ Heather Shimmer girl!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2014 21:58

The lipstick colour really suits you. :)

Cocolepew · 13/06/2014 21:59

That colour lipstick really suits you.

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 22:00

Coming from Remus - who knows about these things - it must be true!

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 22:02

Ooo and coco! Thank you!

Just looked for that wax stick - it seems to be marketed for men; not that it bothers me, just checking it is the right one?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2014 22:02

Me? Nope, I know nothing! But it does look really nice.

Cocolepew · 13/06/2014 22:06

When I googled it it was coming up in a black packaging and it did say men in it, that was on Boots . That one I put up was ebay.
Im sure they are the same sort of thing. Ive had it for so long its bound to have changed!
Its quite a hard wax, really good.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/06/2014 22:07

Yellow DS1(19) said "your hair really suits you like that Mum, you look much younger" the other day! I was a bit shocked, because he is a bit wicked and never compliments me so asked him what he wanted!Grin

When they all first saw it they were a bit shocked but they did like like it.

Fishandjam · 13/06/2014 22:12

Fab cut. Like many have said, it's taken years off you.

Though I've often thought that re short hair. So many women would suit a chop but those who actually have one are still relatively few and far between. (I haven't had hair longer than about 10cm for 30 years Grin )

YellowStripe · 13/06/2014 22:13

fairy it means more when it's unexpected like that!
