I've got £40 to spend and I thought I would easily find something in clarks, or somewhere boring!
But there was nothing I really liked and that was comfy aswell, I want them for walking around on days out etc in the summer, ideally not a toe post, and a thickish sole.
The only ones that I liked and were comfy in clarks was these but obvs they are toe post. I also like these but im not keen on the ankle strap, and they are a bit expensive....
fussy aren't I?

I ordered those second ones in good and they kept falling off my foot!

What size are you and what colour do you want?

tethersend · 12/06/2014 09:32

If you're an 8 and like blue these are amazingly comfy and in budget. If not, screw the budget and get them in another colour

Nocomet · 12/06/2014 09:38

I like the second Clarks and the blue ones are lovely - sadly also 4 sizes too big!

tethersend · 12/06/2014 09:44

leopard

Nocomet · 12/06/2014 10:05

Tethers! No way would those get past the teen fashion police. I wouldn't be allowed out the door.

tethersend · 12/06/2014 10:10

Haha Grin

My kids know better than to stand between me and leopardprint Grin

Fairylea · 12/06/2014 10:24

Something from pavers? Near same quality as clarks and many of the styles around the 25 ish mark.

rockinghorseShit · 12/06/2014 13:21

I like those blue ones, but I don't really want a strap like that round the ankle, also, I am a size 6!

I tried on the second pair you linked to but found then weirdly uncomfortable. I ended up buying these, although admittedly they blow the budget:

sandals

They are very comfortable though.

rootypig · 12/06/2014 13:26

ooh tether those leopard ones are divine!

OP I have come onto your thread to issue my standard advice, which is that Saltwater sandals are the only comfortable ones on earth and very flattering. The sole is not thick but substantial and moulds to your foot. Which sounds unpleasant, but isn't.

polyhymnia · 12/06/2014 13:35

kantha I have those and am really pleased with them.

rockinghorseShit · 12/06/2014 13:37

I really cant afford £80, and im not keen on the saltwater ones, sorry!

these are the ones I liked last year, I saw them in the sale in winter, tried them on, they fitted lovely, but I stupidly didn't get them ( with the expense of Christmas etc)

tethersend · 12/06/2014 13:42

these?

tethersend · 12/06/2014 13:43

these?

LadyMud · 12/06/2014 13:43

Teva Sandals are very comfortable, although most of their styles are a bit "outdoorsy". But the Tirra sandal is quite pretty, and comes in loads of different colours.

tethersend · 12/06/2014 13:45

size 6 of those clarks ones here

Fairylea · 12/06/2014 13:45

Unable to link on my phone but marks and spencers girls section (hang on... hang on...!) have saltwater a likes in leather in funky colours (and a white) going up to size 7 for £20 :) I just bought dd two pairs and they are so nice I might get myself some in the white.

Fairylea · 12/06/2014 13:46

Sorry just seen you don't like saltwaters! Sorry.

tethersend · 12/06/2014 13:47

Ooh, rootypig- was going to get DD a pair of those saltwater sandals. Do you think they'd be alright for little feet?

littlegreenbag · 12/06/2014 13:50

rootypig I love the look of the saltwater ones but they appear to be sold out on the coast website. Any idea where else I'll be able to get them?

Fairylea · 12/06/2014 13:51

Office sell saltwater sandals. Not many colours but they do have some.

rockinghorseShit · 12/06/2014 13:56

I'm not keen on the outdoorsy ones, they are too bulky, although I do want more than just a flat thin sole, or ones that look like the ones my mum wears!
I know I am too fussy.
Thanks for your help, I think I will get some of last years clarks off ebay.

Any of these look good? Some nice ones in amongst the very sensible kind
www.shoon.com/womens-shoes/all-sandals

rootypig · 12/06/2014 14:17

little they are brilliantly comfortable, you won't regret it. Suitable for use in water (hence the name).

Here they are www.sunsansandals.co.uk/

also Modcloth sells them at US prices ($40) and ships to the UK
www.modcloth.com/shop/ourdesigners/saltwater-sandals

They are so comfortable, I cannot recommend them enough.

tether oh think they'd be brilliant for your two, we got S some sea wees and they are lovely but really big, so waiting for her to grow into them. She has such narrow feet though! I think yours will be in the junior sizes, not toddler, there's a size chart here: www.mysaltwatersandals.com/youth.html

rootypig · 12/06/2014 14:21

NB beware both the US sizing (add 1 to your UK size) and the fact that the sizes are ime about half a size generous.

I am a UK 6.5, and I have the Saltwaters in a US 7, these are a good fit with a little room, so I would say would do a 39/40 EU foot.

So to get your American size go up 1 size from your UK, or if you're inbetween sizes, half a size.
